Driver door light switch

My 2003 golf says the driver door is open even when it's shut. I automatically looked around the door and door frame and found no litthe switch. I looked on the side of the dashboard as well. Not a thing. Where is the switch?

I *think* the switch is part of the latch which is inside the door. You have to take out the window regulator to get to it which can be a pain. Regulators are very common to go bad in these too. Might want to think about replacing it while you're in there if you can find one for cheap.

look around the car on each door, you will see a small black switch on wich the door shuts on. This switch when open brings on the light and bell. Go around and check by pushing each one of these in. This should stop the light/charm. It works on what is called an open circuit, if you check each of the sensors and the problem persists, then one of the sensors may be faulty or their is a broken wire somewhere in the circuit. These switches should easily unscrew from the door frame. For the mean time to stop your battery going flat, remove the interior light globe.

Interior lights wont go off when you shut the door have to disconnect the battery

There is a switch/button in each door frame that pops up when the door is open and gets depressed when the door is shut. One of those switches may be malfunctioning. Go around the doors and check each one of those switches for signs of damage. If you cannot see anything superficially, you will need to remove each switch to inspect it thoroughly. Start with the driver door as its get the most use and is the most likely to fail..

The interior light on my vw golf r32 stays on when all doors and boot is closed? Where is the sensor located?

Hi, one of your door pressure switches are sticking or, may be disconnected or broken. these pressure switches are located within the inner side of each door frame. they are usually housed where the door hinges are located. you can replace these switches.

make sure it isnt a wiring issue before you buy new pressure switches.

Please rate and have a great day:)

One more thing. make sure the dome light(interior light), switch isn't set to ON. if its set to ON, it will continue to illuminate even if the doors are closed.

2003 Honda Pilot lighting problem

the driver's door has a switch which tells the multiplexer control unit that the door is open and the control unit then switches on the lights. It sounds like the switch is not making contact when the driver's door is open. The lights work and the other door switches work--so it isn't a fuse or multiplexer problem.

Where is the door contact switch?

Check all 4 doors to see what works and doesn't work, be sure the interior domelight switch is set to turn on automatically when any door is open as well try the radio then open the 4 doors to see if it turns off...if your driver's side door don't work as you stated then that should be the door's "at fault".

GM built the door contact switch that's installed INSIDE the door-it's located inside the door striker/jamb require removal of door trim to gain access.

However, you might want to try this visual inspection:
Check the thick wire harness located between the front-left door and door sill frame to see if any wire has been disconnected/cut or tampered with by previous owner.
