Question about 2001 Chevrolet Astro
You need to get your heater core check to see if it's damaged, worn out or is simply not working. The reason it takes long for the heater to work is because the heat that you feel is coming directly from engine after it gets hot and not from the coolant flowing through thermostat. The heater core is the first thing to check, Then make sure your vents are all connected. If they are blocked are damaged this would cause heat to not reach passenger compartment. You can have your heater core check at your local auto repair store. Good luck
