Question about 1995 Isuzu Trooper

1 Answer

R and R rear end drivetrain cost and availability

I need to replace the rear end in my 1995 Trooper but they seem hard to find. Where can I get one and what is the cost of parts and installation labor?

I missed your satement where Fixya is for probs of a general nature only. Mebbe if you made it a blinking flashing statement I would not have missed it. Rather than passing the buck, I would think you could admit you don't have an answer, just to be honest.

Fixya is a great forum for problems of a general nature but you want specifics and there seem to be a goodly number of Isuzu forums out there. That's where I would be looking for answers to your problem.

I would say that it was implicit (that I had no answer) in my suggestion to check for help on Isuzu forums.
I see messages that are years old looking for specifics that have not received an answer.

Rear thumping

i have the exact same problem in my 2010 Veracruz. Had it to the dealer 5 times. They say they can't "duplicate" the sound. They say they check the suspension and all is ok. I leave the dealership and the next day I hear the thumping. I also notice that on a snow covered road, the car is very hard to hang on to. Seems like when you go down the road, the rear end wants to kick out to the right. Personally, I think there is something wrong with the drivetrain. Possible an issue with the AWD trying to kick in the right rear wheel. Wheel Speed Sensor?? Who knows?? I'm really frustrated. The dealer is useless.

Can t remove rotor on 1995 trooper

Most just pull straight up and off. Some are held by screws. If no screws are evident, probably just on real tight, try to pull hard, maybe the handle end of a screwdriver to tap on it from the side or underneath.

I have a 1995 Isuzu trooper with auto transmission. when you take off, depending on how much throttle you give it, it will shutter but then it will shift up fine once you are going is this a transmission...

Actually could be a problem with your voltage regulator in your alternator. If it has become defective, you might notice your voltmeter reading more than 14 volts. This messes with the electronic shifting of your transmission, and the car tries to start out at the wrong gear.

Take it to Autozone, they will test it for free.

I'm getting a 95 astro from my uncle he says the rear differential went out its making a thumping noise when driving would it be better to replace whole rear end or just gears or what could the problem be

before condemning the rear check the u joints first usually the most common problem but if rear is determined to need replacement than 1-replacement of gears by u unless u have the proper tools than that will be hard and can be more costly in long run if installed improperly 2-junkyard unit cheap usualy under 100 and can be installed by u with help from a friend 3- have rebuilt at a shop usually cost about 800 and up 4- if u live by a school or coledge or a school that has auto training these places usually charge a fee for the lift around 50 and dont charge for labor u buy the parts or replacement unit and they do the work [learning experience ]

1995 ford taurus will not start at times and later starts fine

Sounds like the Fuel Pump, which is located in the Gas Tank, ahead of the rear wheels, basically under the rear door. The gas tank itself is not hard to remove, and you could get a kit available online. It's probably easier to do if you have ramps and back the rear wheels onto those two ramps, you can't do it as easily by just jacking up the car. If you have two hydraulic jacks, that might work as well.

If you buy the part, you want to bring it to a gas station to remove the gas tank, they should be able to do all the work for you in about one hour.
