Brake lights My brake lights do not gome on, however my turn signals are working on my 2000 bravada

My driver's side brake light does not work, but the directional signals all work. My repair shop said I needed a new light switch assembly for over $200.00. for just the part. That seems awfully expensive to get a light working again.

Have you checked the wireing from the switch under the dash above the break pedal?

There should be a switch attached to the break pedal support bracket that is activated when the break pedal is depressed(even ever so slightly). It is a make/break cercuit that is activited when the break pedal is depressed ever so slightly... this is the reason why in traffick one might see someone "on his breaks" with his brakes on (LIGHTS ARE LIT) but he isn't slowing down because he is just letting his foot ride on the pedal. Some times when cleaning out the vehicle, removeing matts or reaching under the dash or trying to fix something else the wires may become detached by accident when an arm is pulled back in a cramped condition. The switch is small and is usually a small button that is kept from closing the circuit when the brake pedal is untoutched.... but move it slightly and the button is nolonger toutching the pedal arm and the circuit is allowed to close and the lights go on. The switch is sometimes located in a light sheetmetal bracket that allows it to be adjusted by pushing the switch close to the pedalarm or linkage when it is in the relaxed (or untoutched position).

Sounds like a short in the socket or a bad ground.
The parking light is one circuit and the brake turn signal is another.

Abs brake light coming on.

Your Antilock Brake System (ABS) has a problem. The ABS will not work at all as long as the light is on. A common problem is a bad Front Wheel Speed Sensor. This system also uses the signal from the Vehicle Speed Sensor that is mounted in either the differential or the transfer case, depending on if you have 4 wheel drive. There are many other things that can cause this light to come on, but these are the most common. You will need to have your Electronic Brake Control Module (EBCM) scanned to find out why it has turned the light on.

Brake lights won't come on when I apply brakes- bulbs are fine, turn signals flash, reverse lights work

There is a little black switch up on the brake pedal under the dash. It is almost to the top of the brake pedal on the back side. That switch goes bad and causes this problem.

I hope this helps you. If so please check YES! Thanks!

Main brake lights not working, third light works, turn signals work, all fuses are good, what could be the problem? 02 Olds Bravada.

Most likley the brake light switch. It has 2 different sides. One for the third brake light and one for the lower brake lights. It is inexpensive and can be changed easily. Good Luck
