I have problem with the power lock buttons inside the van. It will not lock nor unlock. However, I can use the remote to lock/unlock. What's the problem and which part to replace?

Looking from the front of the hood into the firewall, I see the water pump (I think, with belt connected to it) on top of the block directly behind the fan. When the water pump stop/start, the fan comtine to run. Here the picture of what I saw and the center is the stop and start.

Sorry for the wrong comments above.

Switch on pass - not sure what that is, can you explain?

The power lock buttons inside the van doesn't seem to work while the remote on the key chain does.

My power locks only work from my keychain. The activation switches on inside of the doors themselves do not work (I have tried both the driver and passenger side).

It's the lighter fuse... #25, I think?? Fuse box is located by your left foot under the dash.

  • Court Jul 02, 2012

throcky834, I looked at the fuse panel, my only go up to 24. I assumed it would be fuse for AUX POWER? If it is, is like #5 or something and it is ok, Any other suggestion?

Also checked #13 (cig lighter) fuse and it was not open (break). Any other suggestions?

Try... Check 20 amp cig lighter fuse in location 13 of interior fusebox.. I replaced with a 25-30 amp, as I run 110/500watt power converter.. Owner's manual is on line, somewhere..

Why does my 1999 Ford E 150 van blow a fuse when I push the lock button on the remote and on the door controls?

It could be a relay. Look under hood for a plastic box with relays about 3\4 square.with vehicle off, trade out another one that's the same and then try it.

My front door will not close because latch has locked in place, help 1999 Chevy astro van

You should be able to open it with a large screw driver. Simply put the screw driver in the hole where the latch would go and pull the handle to open the door. With the handle in the open position pull the screw driver toward the inside of the van and the latch should open right up. Then close the door. Hope this helps.

My 2002 chevy astro van power door locks are not working. Only the drivers side door will open with the keyless entry. Pushing the unlock button inside the van still won't release the other locks. What can...

i can help , kinda, i had trouble with my astro van door lock in the back , it is not connected to the electric door locks , turns out the thing was broke inside, i had to pry off the inside panel and reach inside the door itself to unlock it, this can be done without damaging the panel or trim but you have to unscrew some parts, and work it loose very gently, on the rest of it, well i have been having trouble with the door locks on my astro, i think its just a weakness in design on these guys

Looking for location of bcm on 97 astro van dash

The BCM is located immediately above the heater controls inside the dash on my 2004 Astro. I know it controls the headlights and locks but not gauges. Haynes says the gauge fuse supplies it power....but I'm not going to bank on that one.

2003 Astro van - power locks & AC issues...

There is a vacuum line that goes from the vacuum reservoir (usually next to the bottom of the passenger side engine) up and across the top of the engine to connect on the driver side of the engine. The vaccum line cracks/leeaks and will not allow the vent vacuum actuators to function. Replace the line. Use a thicker wall buts same inside diameter rubber vaccuum hose. Probably under $5. People waste a bunch of time replacing the actuators, switches, etc. Its just the vacuum line and poor original placement/design.
