1992 Buick Century 4 door 6 clyinder

I have a 1992 Buick Century Four door 6 Cly. Have a problem with the heater. Not getting hot enough. Fan blows really well, but like I said, not much heat coming out. How do I go about getting a book on this car. Have tried several auto places. I was told the car was made in Mexico?

Buick Century 1992 heater is broken, only produces cool air and only blows out of floor and window vents.

First, check coolant level. If it's low, it'll blow cool air. Second, check the fuse for the HVAC system. The mode door actuator and mode door controls WHERE the air comes out and the BLEND door actuator and blend door controls the air temperature. So do a search for the locations of those items on your car and check their operation.

1]Iam driving 1999 buick century and its saying,"engine service soon'' which indicating inside. So what I have to do.?pls guide me. 2]And also my heater though it blows but it will not give hot...

If there is a service engine soon light on, then there are codes that need to be read off of the computer. One can get an obd-ii scanner for under $100 at Sears or walmart or get Advance Auto Parts or Autozone to scan for free.

On the second question, check that the heater core is getting hot on both tubes at the firewall (heater hoses 1").
If not, then the system needs flushed or the heater core will have to be replaced.
If they are getting hot, then there is a blend door problem.

When weather hot engine light comes on and engine idles high ,starts to overheat on 1992 Buick Century

High idle is computer controlled to try to get fan moving enough air to cool it down (so that part is normal) check that electric fan comes on and check clutch on mechanical fan if you have one. If all OK, radiator may be partially internally plugged or may have leaves stuck between it and a/c condenser.

Heater only runs in high position

There are in-line resistors that control the fan speed and a couple have burned out. Take it to your local mechanic or dealer and they will replace them, mine cost about $100. The other option is to get a repair manual and do it yourself.

Heater/AC fan does not blow on two lowest speeds.

Your fan uses resistors to reduce the speed of the fan. Hi speed doesnt use the resistors and that is why it runs on hi. Standing in front of the car, all of your heater housing is on the left side of the firewall You will see a connection with about 4 wires That look like they go nowhere. Take the couple screws out and pull it out. You will be able to see the burnt one.Jump out the burnt on and that will give you another speed or two.
