Question about 1993 Ford Thunderbird

1993 Thunderbird Car hesitates and stalls when taking off and then its hard to start. Replaced plugs Dist. cap and rotor. Any help?

If it is hesitating and stalling like that. if its a manual then the clutch is going out if its a automatic then the transmission is slipping. also check the dist. cap again maybe it is the firing order its a common mistake

It sounds like u have a cam correlation problem... Take ur cap off mark where ur rotor is pointing on the dist. Mark the firewall where the dist plug is pointing take the 10mm bolt out n look @ the dist gear and see how bad it's worn!! When u take the cap off some times they're so bad when u move the rotor u can tell the excessive play hope this helps!!!!

can you please describe the engine a bit better is it a 1985 model with carb and points or a later model with fuel injection and ignition module .

then i would replace whats called the hall effect sensor its that black plastic plate you see when you take dist cap off. just pull rotor and lift up the sensor.dist cap is what holds it on.also under the sensor will be a stamped sheet metal piece that looks like the top of a castle wall. make sure its not loose on the shaft.if it is then new dist will be needed

Will not start


Did you install the correct plugs, and did you check the gap? Also check all wires again to make sure nothing was pulled off, or loosened by accident.
