A/C blows thru defrost on my 1997 jeep cherokee

sounds like you have a vaccum leak on your engine, the switch that controls where the air flow goes is controlled by vaccum. check your vaccum lines and check the switch.

Any tips for why i would have a high(fast)2,500-3000 rpm's idle after changing water pump on a 91 wrangler?

you may have knocked off a vaccum line , or forgot to put one back on, check all electrical connections, also make sure the coolant temp sensor is hooked up.heres a couple of diagrams to help you locate sensors i circled and check vaccum lines, ones for a 2.5 and a 4.0 engine. hope this helps.5be5f70.gif49adff6.gifdbfcad0.gif

'00 Jeep Wrangler with no heat and AC not blowing

Ok, if you are trying to use your AC and its not turning on, odds are your refrigerant levels are low, the system will not turn on when low fluid levels are present so the system doesnt burn up the compressor.

If your blower motor is not operating, you may have a fuse blown that needs to be replaced, or the control chip that plugs into the blower motor (for fan speed settings) has burned up (easy fix).

If your climate control is not throwing out heat when you change the settings to hot, you have a leaky vaccume line and the vaccume pressure is not strong enough to open or close (depending on setting) your blender box. Although typically when a vaccume line springs a leak you will have issues with your selector switch as well (defrost, vent, floor)

Also pay attention to your temp gauge to make sure the thermostat is operating properly, and the engine is not over heating ro getting excessivly hot! If it is, then you need to replace the thermostat ($8 part)
and go from there. Also you should check your heater core, if it gets clogged or has restricted coolant flow, your system wont have the heat it normally did (if any) when it worked properly.

This is just a quick summery of the area's you should be looking into for the problems you are having! thanks for using Fixya.com and good luck, I hope I have helped make resolving your problem alittle easier

99 jeep cherokee problem w/ heat I replaced the blower motor, water pump, radiator, thermostat and flushed the coolent system. Still getting little heat. I'm thinking heater core or head gasket... Is there...

It sounds like the heater coil needs flushing out or replacing or the heater valve. Look on the engine firewall and make sure the heater valve is opening. If not open it manually and check the heat level. If that produced heat check the condition of the heater vale cable (or vaccum hose).

My horn works when it wants my blower to my heater only works on defrost and the center of my information panel brinks steaty

Try replacing horn, blower always reverts to defrost when there is no vaccum so check your vaccum lines, the hvac line is usually very small and goes through the firewall. sorry I don't understand the last part

Heat and air only come out defrost on windsheild not vent or floor

The air handlers on jeep are powered by engine vaccum and when a loss of vaccum happens the air is defaulted to defrost,so under the hood on passenger side is a 1/8 small black plastic line should be plugged into a bigger rubber or plastic vaccum line sometimes after a few years the rubber boots the use get soft and washing the engine or just moving things around can unhook the small line

Jeep Wrangler 03 A/C stopped working abruptly

This may be the AC compressor cycling switch is defective. It is located in the larger of the 2 AC lines coming from the compressor, it has a wire connector to it with 2-3 wires. To verify this is the issue jumper the connector with a small piece of wire and see if the compressor runs.

Cruise control 2000 jeep grand cherokee

insufficient info. The cruise control has a cable that runs from the servo, located just in front of the battery, to just behind the air intake, to the throttle body. (This is on the 4.7L V8 engine.) Check for that cable being connected at the throttle body. That connect is adjacent to the accelerator cable.
