Replacing door mirror on Maserati 3200GT

Hi,

I have a 2000 Maserati 3200GT and the driver's side (right-hand drive model) mirror got damaged (outer surround plastic). I've managed to get a replacement unit (complete piece with wiring) in same colour and now looking to replace - I guess I can either just replace the outer piece or the whole unit, whichever is easiest.

Please can you advise how the door inner trip is removed to get at the unit bolts?

Many thanks

On the inside trim, you can remove screws that are by the door handle, arm rest, under door and side of door and then gently pull back on the panel as there will also be retaining clips attached and you don't want to break them. You'll need to lift the door panel upwards in order to get it off the window ledge. Then you'll need to manipulate the panel and disconnect the door handle linkage from the door handle and disconnect the wiring for your controls. Then you can access the bolts that secure the mirror onto the door

Broken mirror glass on driver side, dent in driver door

I would say it's senseless to drive your car in this condition; you should replace it as soon as possible. If you're replacing it with new one it'll cost you lots of money. So lookout for a used door mirror and replace yours, it will cost you less dollars and less efforts too. Few months ago I replaced my taillights with used ones and they are working fine so far. You should also contact http://www.iautobodyparts.com/door_mirror-catalog/ for used door mirrors.

Driver side mirror replacement

Instructions1.

Remove thedoor panel. Refer to your Honda Accord repair manual for theinstructions in removing the door panel. Unhook the rods and connectors on theinside of the door panel and set it on the floor.
    • 2
Remove thefilm covering the access to the side mirror. It's difficult to avoid damaging thefilm while removing it so you will need to purchase a new piece of filmcovering when you buy a new side view mirror.
    • 3
Reachthrough the service hole into the mirror housing with a screwdriver. Loosen thescrew that holds the mirror. Twist the screw out with your hand.
    • 4
Reacharound the door and support the mirror with your other hand. Continue to twistthe screw out, then catch the mirror as it drops out when you remove the screwcompletely. Put the screw in a safe place so you don't lose it.
    • 5
Installthe new side view mirror by positioning it where the old mirror was. Insert thescrew you took out in Step 4 and twist it in with your hand. Insert ascrewdriver into the service hole to tighten the screw.
    • 6
Replacethe film covering that was damaged when you took out the old mirror. Push itinto place in the indentation on the door.

Have to replace the passanger side mirror on 2000 dodge stratus. how do i go about doing this

remove the triangle trim piece on the interior side of door (usually snap on a delicate pry with a flat head screw driver will do the trick)
next remove the (3) 10mm nuts securing the mirror to the door, next unplug the mirror by squeezing the plug connector, pull the mirror of the outside of vehicle. Reverse this order during installation and you should be fine.
Note the mirror may fall and scrath the paint while the nuts are off, keep a hand on the old mirror to prevent from falling during removal
