Question about 2002 Volkswagen Jetta TDI
Vehicle has previously (months ago) experienced no upshift out of first gear, which went away once the car cooled down. Now after about a week of non use I took it out and it shifts 1-2 but no 2-3 upshift. Car has not had transmission fluid checked and it supposedly doesn't need fluid change or added fluid as long as it hasn't leaked. It does not apper to be leaking. Car has 110,000 miles on it.
Check fluid level with engine running and in reverse with handbrake on and a chock under both drive wheels.is the gear shift slow or lazy??changing if so sounds like fluid if sharp change then problem could be with teh shift control switch or the control unit which is mounted under the passenger foot well.not a good position as often water get in and this is the sort of problem now that you get
