Back up lights not working

Hi:
I was told that my back up lights were not working so I replaced the bulbs. They are still not working. Is there a fuse that is just connected to these lights or is ther more that I should do? I am not great with vehicles. I know enough to get by.

My 2000 Mercury Montaineer with full time AWD 3.73 axle w/tow pkg doing same thing. No reverse lights. Fuse and bulbs check OK.

Hey davis2270, what do u have for a transmission? It sounds like u need a new back up light switch, which screws into the tranny on -96 and older ford trucks, I haven't worked on a 01 sport trac, but it is most likely similar. When u put trans in reverse, a circuit is completed which sends power to the back up lights. Check under the vehicle 1st, u might get lucky and find the plug in wire off, or corroded connection, clean it up, and it may solve the problem. If u must replace, shop around, I found prices from approx. $20 to a bit over $100, quite a range. Let me know how u make out.

Hi, my Suzuki swift 2008 has a problem. My back lights, fog lights, all interior lights except radio aren't working. I checked the saftey switches and neither one of them looks burnt. Anyome has a clue...

They are all separate circuits, start by checking fuses. Let's start with the interior lights check the bulb if OK check for voltage at the bulb use a test light if the light lights check the door switches.back up lights check fuse then check the bulbs and sockets, same with the fog lights check fuse (does the blue light come on?) remove the bulb and socket from one side, is the socket burned? replace as needed. I hope this helps, take care.

I have all back lights except the running lights on my 1995 chevy silverado. What fuse is blown?

Hi J, The hazard warning is for the indictors when they all flash at the same time. The park or marker lights are what you should look for. I would suggest that you check all the fuses one at a time and replace any which are blown. That way you are more likely to learn what fuse is for what circuit and cover all details. Regards John

Where is the relay and/or in line fuse for the back up lights on a 2002 GMC Envoy. New bulbs and fuses are fine in both fuse boxes. Still not working so there must be a in line fuse or relay out?

check the neutral safety switch. connected to the shift lever, keeps you from running the starter unless in park or neutral, AND it turns on the back up lights when in reverse.

Got a 95 olds aurora that the dash lights ( not indecater lights) have stop working, what maybe the problem?

Hi! regarding the dash light issue. It may be a fuse problem, try to check the fuse box if theres any broken fuse that may need replacement. If it doesnt fix this then the bulb may have a problem, if you can just pull the instrumental panel and pull the bulbs at the back and replace blackish color bulbs (indication that a bulb is worn). hope this helps

1991 Chevy Blazer dashboard lights are burned out. Can't read

Your dash needs to come out. These bulbs push into a plastic piece that "twists" into the back of the dash board. (About a 1/4 turn) Unless you can get at them from underneath, but I think it's to tight.
