The gauges panel gets plugged into a plug when they are put in and then it is screwed down to hold the plugs together , sometimes the screws come loose and all the gauges start acting up , or the bouncing around wears the connections out and one or more will not work right
when your driving and it acts up push on the clear plastic cover and see if it starts working correctly or gets worse, if it does thats where the problem is , ( there is a bad connection )

00 ford focus 1.4 estate speedo stops working and some times digital display looks like ----. all other guages work

hi
your speedo works via the wheel speed sensors and/or the engine speed sensor and is processed via the ecu. facias are far more complicated than older models and do fail requiring specialist repair. To actually replace would require reprogramming in most cases.
I suggest you get your Focus scanned and see what dtc codes come up....speak to the technician and see if they make sense.
You may have abad wiring plug connector or something silly.
Dont guess...it too expensive.

Hi

I am assuming your old air flow pipe was ripped ? If that was the case it can often damage the air mass sensor / meter, they are quite delicate on these cars. the other alternative would be the throttle control module although these raely go, do all the air pipes have a good tight seal around them? any air leaks will cause the car to be sluggish.

Hope this helps, as regard to the clocks not showing mileage is the back light lit up?

Where is the odometer fuse located in a 2001 yukon

Car don't usually have fuse's on speedos, it stops people "clocking" cars. If your speedo is not working then is could be either the speedo drive or the speedo itself.
