Hi your problem is with the ground wires! Start at the battery and work your way from there. You should find one from the engine to the body, one on each side near the headlights. That should solve it! Frankster016

02 chevy blazer will start after about 10 mins rpm and temp gauges fall and rise and engine revs on its own does the same when in parked. what is the problem?

I think you may want to take a look at the charging system and battery connections. Your alternator may be defective and have a bad diode or A/C leak. Have it bench tested. Also remove and inspect each end of both battery cables. Look to see if they are clean and tight. Inspect the fuse box. Look for corrosion at any of the relays and fuses (take the key out of the ignition while working inside the engine compartment). When this surging occurs, do the lights go from dim to bright as well?

Don't know the car, but sounds like a loose earth wire somewhere. check where your feet go and see if something hasn;t caught on a peddle or your foot. if you have had work done on car recently, find out where they worked and look around there.

Pull and replace the fuses for the headlights. Its likely a dirty contact. To be sure use a volt meter and measure the voltage at the headlight. Should be close to the battery voltage. If its low and its not the fuse start tracing back the wire from the headlight until you find the bad connection.

One head light lamp light is dim

If the headlights were not changed at the same time the dim one may be about to go out. If you change the dim one and not both of them the other one will most likely get dim while the other is still bright

Sounds like your ground wire is broken (which could be broken, overheated, loose or corroded) If the color of the copper has changed(looks gray) or is corroded then you must replace the plug.

Sounds to me like you need to clean the battery post and the cables. Take off the batter cables and either take some sandpaper or a wire brush and clean the post and then do the same to the inside of the battery cables that comes in contact with the batter post.
