If your saying that the selector is working correctly and gear selection position is not the issue you may need to get the trans serviced and ask if the bands in your particular trans can be reset. Some autos are,Some are retorqued and give a little longer service life while others must be dismantled and reconditioned. Was it slipping or showing other signs of failure or was it sudden?Have you checked the fluid level and is the trans fluid a nice clean red color or dark and smells burnt. If burnt you may need to service it and see if that and possible band retorque may see you right.Could also be a control issue with trans internaly. Its not an easy fix problem and trans specialist will give you more joy answer wise as he can test drive etc to give a more informed and hopefuly honest answer.

Yes, every gear works except drive
I had this same problem and it turned out to be the brake booster. After I had that replaced it worked
will it down shift into other gears or does it stop at neutral
