Most likely you have a defective5th gear syncrhronising mechanism. Most transmissions have a 5th gear inspection cover which should give you access to the 5th gear gearwheel which should normally allow you to disengage it but eventually it will lock up in 5th again. In other words i would advise a transmission overhaul

OK so it's a manual trans and it's stuck in fifth gear I can't get it out

Sit in the vehicle .Get someone to move it back and forth while in 5th gear ,try to disengage the gear either through the clutch or by pushing the gear lever to neutral .

Manual transmission 03 eclipse gts do I have overdrive?

If you have the five speed manual, almost certainly the fifth gear is an overdrive gear. Overdrive means that the gear ratio is less than 1:1, and in most 5 speeds, the fourth gear is 1:1, the fifth gear being less, such as 0.85:1 for instance. So yes, you probably have overdrive, it's just not called that in a standard transmission.

Gear stuck in 5th, shifter works fine. Cable fine, put in 4th shifter starts rattling, stays in 5th (1st &2nd) car is stuck. Internal it looks like, but hope I'm wrong. Please tell me

Sounds internal to me. Fifth gear bearing locked up. I assume it is manual(unless the bearing has welded itself to the shaft and case)? These aren't hard to rebuild. Automatics are a bit trickier. Either of them have to come out.

1990 Honda Accord EX manual transmission sticks in 5th gear, if i come off an exit ramp at low speed or stop the transmission sticks in fifth gear and almost impossible to pull it out of fifth gear however...

I would check to see if the fluid is low, and replace it with Honda manual transmission fluid first. Honda manual transmissions originally used engine oil, never gear oil, then Honda came out with manual trans fluid. Either would work, but the Honda manual fluid would be better.

My 2002 Kia manyual transmission pops out of fifth gear

this is caused by severe transmission wear, you are going to need the trans torn down and rebuilt, sorry but that is the only way to fix this right.

Fifth gear lock-out

You should have fifth gear. There is no fifth gear lock out. Most likely it's not going into fifth gear, due to play in the shifter, or play in the linkages.
