Question about 1999 Honda Accord
I bought my Accord new over 9 years ago and it has given me few problems until recently. Lately I have noticed that sometimes after I fill up the gas tank I have trouble getting the car to start back up. If I wait a few minutes the car will start and I can go about my business. Several times over the last several months the car has shut off while driving and then I have the same problem as stated above with getting it to start again. I traded cars with my father for a little bit in order to utilize his truck, and now the car will not start at all. The car sat for 3 days without being started and then when I attempted to start it to swap cars it wouldn't start. I could get it to start using starter fluid, but as soon as the starter fluid was burned the car would shut off, which leads me to believe it might be a fuel problem, but the question lies in where the fuel problem might be. My car has 157,000 miles and has been maintained according to the owners manual. The last time that I drove the car before giving it to my father it did something that it had never done before in idleing high between 1200 and 2500 RPM. Could the possibly be the fuel pump or delivery system? Any suggestions would be helpful.
