Question about 1985 Honda Prelude
I need to change the light bulb, but I can not open it.
There is a plastic tab on 2 sides of the clear (opaque) plastic cover. the cover should be squeezed in towards the center of the light, which will allow the plastic tabs to release from the light fixture so u can remove the cover. Squeeze again to re-install. If you have trouble removing this way, very gently insert small flat screwdriver at outside center of lens, pry gently in to see and release tab.

if it is covered by a white plastic then inspect it carefully and look for slots where you can put tiny screwdrivers to pry the plastics off, then you can replace your bulb. just be careful not to break the plastic.

Look closely at the cover. You will see a small slot. Insert a small flat blade screwdriver, and pry it off. Very easy..

Without seeing it, I would guess that you have a problem with clean contacts. Especially in cars with smokers, the contacts of something like a fuse or a light bulb can become corroded just enough to stop the light from working. Wiggling it scrapes away the debris and allows for contact. I suggest that you take some steel wool and lightly scrub the contact points on both the light and the fixture. **Be sure to have all the doors closed so you dont short out the steel wool.** If you are concerned with the abrasive nature of the steel wool, a pencil eraser will sometimes work just as well. Either way, it just sounds dirty which is par for any car. Good luck!

This is a real pain, took me forever to find mine... there is a little TINY slot that you can fit a VERY small flat head screwdriver in to pop it off.
Dont worry, the plastic is durable, just try to use a precision screwdriver if you have one and basically pry it open. it really will just Pop off once you get in there
