Question about 1990 Lincoln Town Car
I bought a 1990 Lincoln Continental from a dealership and owned by the dealership. Lots of service docs showing regular care and repair. Problem, when bought fan would work after the car ran awhile. Then it became longer and longer and now not at all. Totally disassembled another car for parts plus part of another so I got lots o parts. Free of course. I have swapped out the control module in dash 2 times. I do have a 3rd one on the shelf. Fan still no worky!! Tried another fan. Unplugged fan and pluged in another fan. No worky!!! The fan in the car has been replace already with obvious signs of removal and installation, poor caulk or seal job. I am looking for advice on where to look next. Is there a sensor or module that tells the command unit all is good to go before the fan kicks in? Help, Please!! Thanks fixdit4X4
Check your temperature sending unit. this is the one that triggers the fan once the engine is in hot condition.
hot condition would be the needle just past the middle of the gauge.
BUT, if you have your air conditioning on, these fans should run at the same time the compressor is on.
this fan is waiting for two things. A/C is on, and engine is hot.
