You say U put a battery in, was this a new battery, is it fully charged? if you have a volt meter have someone try and start the car, see what the battery voltage drops to, if it is a 5+ volt drop then 1 of 3 things is going on, 1st the battery isn't charged or otherwise has a problem, 2nd the starter is shorted or last thing the engine is frozen up, if the engine seems frozen try to turn the engine by hand with a socket and 1/2" drive ratchet on the crank pulley, if you can't turn it, it is frozen, water may have gotten in the engine or it may have some catastrophic failure like a connecting rod. Let me know.

Starer is always on even when the key is off. Cooling Fan turns on when key is turned off.

the alternator needs attention. When you jumped another car ( probably did it incorrectly there may have been a power surge that blew out a rectifier in the diode plate.. As there is no DC power being generated the vehicle was running on battery power and so the lights dimmed and the battery went flat
take the toggle switch back out because if it need one it would already have one and by putting in the switch you have created more problems that what you hoped to fix.

My 1993 firebird was running fine after changing ignition switch and now it will not crank? told it was the vats key mod. need to know how to bypass it and where its located

Is there a pellet in the key. This type can be bypassed the pellet pushes to resistors outward to a given value from #1 to #14 if you can read key resistance then go to a electronics store a by a resistor that value now crawl under dash by gas pedal you will find a orange cord with two white wires in it place resistor across both wires and cut wires off leaving the ones going up steering column open. turn key on if security light is flashing wrong resistance value. try again. a haynes manual should have all resistance values but key code.

The computer grounds the relay when the engine temp reaches 220 degrees, or when the ac compressor is running.

You either have a bad starter or ignigtion switch. When you turn the key on does everything else come on? I would check the starter first if you have power to everything.

How do i wire engine fans to a toggle switch in the cabin of a 1997 pontiac firebird trans am ws6?

The simplest way would be to run a wire from the positive battery post to your toggle switch. Make sure you put a fuse in it. Then run from the toggle switch back out to the fan. Unplug the factory wiring and plug you wire onto the power feed terminal at the fans. To find that, just use a jumper wire from the battery to each prong on the fan until it turns on. Plug your toggle switch to that prong. Hope this helps.

Sometimes when my son attempts to start his car it will not start, he waits a few minutes then tries again and it starts. We have been told it is the chip in the key causing the problem. Is that possible

their is alot of possibilities of what could be wrong from the fuel filter getting plugged to you PATS system not reading your key . i would try another key. also try to turn the key on for 30 sec turn off and then on for 30 sec and thenturn over the engine.

1989 firebird formula radiator fans won't come on at any tempature?

There could be a lot of causes for this. If the thermostat is stuck open, the computer will read that as the engine running cool and not turn the fans on. Also make sure to check the coolant temp sender units are working properly. More direct reasons could be corrosion or damage the the wiring of the fans themselves. Try wiring the fans to a direct source of voltage and see if they work. These key steps should put you in the right direction.
