Question about 2005 Toyota Corolla

AC/Heater Fan not functioning

Good afternoon,

When I turn the AC or heater on the fan does not come on. Nothing coming out of the vents. I checked both fuses under the dash and they appear to be in good condition. Any suggestions?? Thank you for your input.

    Toyota Ed,

I did as you suggested, tapping on the heater fan and it came on immediately. Both cold and hot air were blowing out the vents when I changed the temperature setting. Thanks for the suggestion...now

what (LOL). A new fan motor?? THanks for your help...much appreciated.

Try this: Look under and behind the glove box for the heater fan. Turn the key on, and set the fan speed to high. Using a small hammer, tap on the bottom of the heater fan, see if it comes on. Comment back if the fan starts to operate.

Check for a disconnected vent duct or the arm is disconnected from the vent door.

No air coming out of the vents

It sounds like the heater motor may not be operating. When you switch the heater fan on can you hear the motor running? If not then it may have blown the heater fan fuse, check the fuse's and then try it again. If the fuse is ok then it could be a faulty switch or fan motor.

Nothing but hot air coming out from vents all the time.

Check the actuator motor on the inside of the car on the heater. It shifts the doors of the unit to let the heat and ac shift.

Defroster, heater, vents, airconditionig not working when turned on

With the engine off, radio too, turn the key on and try the heater fan on all speeds. No fan, check the fuses. Fan is ok, check the coolant level, if thats fine, then check for a mouse nest in the duct work. Frankster016
