1993 GMC Sierra k1500 injectors not spraying!!!

It will run for a while. Then from idle will stop spraying and stall. If I keep it higher than idle it is fine. Like someone just turned off the key. Changed fuel pump, filter, plugs, wires, idle air valve and many parts. Please help..

I have the same problem, please help!

  • Anonymous Apr 04, 2009

I replaced the egr and it ran smooth for a while. I guess the computer caught up with it cause it started again. I replaced the idle control sensor no change. I unplugged the air idle control valve and it ran at 2000 rpm at idle for a while but did not stall. Then the computer caught up and it started stalling again. I am at a brick wall at this point. I think it may be a vacuum problem but i cant find any leaks.. Pls help.

Ok, I changed the egr and ran good until the computer caught up. Changed the idle control sensor no change. I finally unplugged the air idle control and it ran at 2000 rpm for a while with no stalls. Then the computer caught up with it.. I think it may be a vacuum problem but cant find any solution..This is mfontenot101.. Pls help....

Try cleaning your egr valve or getting a new one.

How do you adjust fuel injectors on 1994 GMC Sierra 5.7L 350?

They don't adjust. They go in the tbi and seat to the bottom if they are leaking you need to change the o rings on them.

Question, does this pickup blow black smoke on idle or at a stop sign. If so check your map sensor might be plugged up or unplugged or bad.

When you shut off the motor, see if fuel is dripping from the injectors. It sounds like one might be leaking.

A bad ignition module can give you fits!!!! Replace it even if it doesnt fix it! You will be glad you did! Most likely that is the problem ,however!

1993 gmc sierra 4wd 5.7L running rough mostly during low rpm, hesitates, then smooths out. Problem is becomming more prevalent, wider rmp range. New plugs, wires, cap, rotor, fuel filter. Still happening.

timing might be off a little...or your low idle control might not be functioning. try unhooking your idle control module on throttle body, if it doesnt change idle when you disconnect it, its faulty.

After it warms up, it dies?

Here are the common cause of surges, stalls at stops, slow idle speed, erratic idle speed, rough idle and engine hesitation (and other problems), it is in most cases the idle speed control air-bypass valve and or throttle valve and upper intake, these area's get full of gunk and combustion residue over the miles and cause idle issues (stalls, low idle) like yours, Get a can of intake cleaner from any local parts store, not carb spray, intake cleaner, it is made by a company called CRC, remove the air intake hose to the engine, hold the idle high so the engine won't stall, then spray the can of cleaner into the intake while keeping the engine running, use at least 1/2 the can, shut down the engine and disconnect the battery for 5 minutes, then restart and complete a number of mixed driving cycles, town, freeway, stop and go etc., after a few days the problem will go away as the system will relearn to the clean intake.
