Locate fuel emissions canister diagram on f 150 1997

Look directly behind and above your gas tank near the spear tire. It should look like a black metal tube with a hose that runs over and connects into your fuel system right behind where you put your gas in. Hope that helps. Should be pretty easy to spot if you cant see it just follow the tube in from your filling line only two ways to go, gas tank or charcoal canister.

Is the vapor canister from a 96 nissan pathfinder compatible with a 97 nissan xe pickup?

Hi, all vapour cannisters are of the same design. Fumes are drawn through a charcoal medium "and cleaned"plus the fumes condensate is absorbed by the treated charcoal The major differences in designs cover the physical size of the cannister and the layout of the fittings. In theory it is possible to fit any cannister to any vehicle using modifications to the cannister body / shell.

Hope this helps.

Your charcoal canister is there to soak up petrol fumes etc so they cant escape to atmosphere and to help eliminate risk of vapours creating a fire hazard. They are a good thing for the enviroment Im suprised its falling out.Its usualy well protected.
