I have a 2005 ford explorer sport trac with 58,000 miles, never had a problem until today, truck started fine drove to work it sat for 8 hours got in to go home, it started fine, sounded fine hit the road got up to about 25 mph and it just started chugging along like it was running out of gas but has 1/2 a tank, rev's up just fine in park. I'm thinking fuel filter or clogged injector. any thought?
Hi,
sounds like a combination bad vacuum leak and/or fuel. find the egr valve and temporarily plug the line going from and to it and test it, check all your vacuum connections, you would hear it hissing. those plastic vacuum connectors get brittle and crack about this time . Ive had a few electric fuel pumps fail that way, half dead. bout time for one of those. check fuel pressure also.if it threw a code and the check engine light is on then you can have the code read at autozone for free.

You may want to check the relay that goes to the primary window. This will provide support to all the other windows. However, it may not just be the window relay, it could possibly be that between your window relay and your main switch there is a short or cut wire that is causing this problem. Unfortunately, you may need to visit your Ford Dealership to run a diagnostic on your wire or if you know an electronic shop that can run one to see if it is receiving and sending power. Have them check the main door fuse and window assembly to see that you are getting power.

Check fuel pressure while driving and running bad.
SOURCE: Just filled the gas tank
A loose connection on the sending unit could cause the problem but also moisture in the tank in cold weather could also be a factor in which i would add fuel line antifreeze to a full tank of fuel..........Hope this helps you out.

You most likely have a bad fuel level sensor. It will cause inaccurate fuel reading.
I hope this helps.
