Question about 1991 Cadillac DeVille
I have a 1991 Cadillac Deville and for some reason the heater doesnt work. My Defrost works halfassed but no heat at all. My AC works just fine and I have been through all my fuses and they are fine. If anyone can help that would be great.
I had the same problem in my 1991 caddy, and turned out to be the blend door. It is located in back of the glove compartment. There are two kinds, the automatic blend doors and the manuel ones. Since the temperature is automatic and programmed to stay where it is set, it would be an "automatic blend door". Not a hard fix...

You may have air in your cooling system. This could prevent coolant from circulating through your heater core. To bleed this air out it helps to park the car on a steep incline (front of car higher than rear) to get the radiator higher than the heater core so that the air can travel up and out. Remove the radiator cap and run the car with the heater on high and blower on. Make sure the car is warmed up and the thermostat is open. You may need to top off the radiator every now and then as air escapes. If the heater starts to get hot your problem is solved. If not you may have a clogged heater core and it needs to be replaced.
