You could possible have a bad door switch. It's still under warranty, so take it to the dealer for a check.

All that fine sand has clogged up your DOOR switches. Check each one and clean accordingly. Also when your lights are blinking on and off, go to the rear and press on the back glass and rear liftgate. Sometimes it does not shut securely and causes the lights to come on and off. This will be accompanied by a liftgate open message in your message center. If that doesn't do it, clean around your liftgate to remove dirt/dust from any contact areas, it will turn on the lights if they are not making good contact.

The courtesy lamps will shut off when the doors are closed and the illuminated entry feature is not active or when the vehicle speed is greater than 5 mph (8 km/h). The interior lamps will not be reactivated until the vehicle speed is less than 3 mph (5 km/h) and a new door open warning lamp switch is received.
The GEM controls the interior lamps illuminated entry function by activating the interior lamp relay.

I have been an automotive technician over 30 yr's an never heard the term hinge the module. The interior lighting on your vehicle is controlled by the smart junction box , ford's BCM body control module . ( Electronic's ) Who checked the vehicle ? Dealer ?

    • Smart junction box (SJB)

    • Dimmer switch
    • Illuminated vanity mirrors (if equipped)

    • Demand lamps
The courtesy lamps are controlled by the SJB. The courtesy lamp subsystem consists of the ajar switches, the interior dome lamps, the puddle lamps, the roof rail lamps, the cargo lamp, and the overhead console lamps (if equipped). The SJB supplies voltage to the courtesy lamps when the SJB receives the required input.
The demand lamps subsystem consists of the glove compartment lamp, the dimmer switch, the cargo lamp, all map/reading lamps, the roof rail lamps, and the LH and RH vanity mirror lamps.
The SJB supplies power to the interior lighting system. The SJB sets DTCs if certain circuit failures exist with the interior lighting system.

Check your push in button on door post or door jamb area. Use your finger or thumb & push it in, and lights should go out, as if door closed, let it out & if lights flicker, time for a new switch, or try spraying it good with contact cleaner may help.

Interior light and diagnostic plug doesn't work

The data link gets it's power from fuse no. 3(20 amp) in the interior fuse panel, which also is the power for cig. lighter. This fuse gets it's power from fuse no. 103 in the battery junction box (50 amp).

For the interior lights the door adjar switches in the door send a signal to the GEM module. It then grounds the coil side of the interior lamp relay. The switch on the dash that you turn on manually also grounds the coil side of the interior lamp relay so that would mean that everyrhing after the GEM is ok.Are the lights not turning on from any door including the deck lid? If not then problem would have to be in the GEM module.
