First things first check your fuses for your fog lamps for any type of rust or corrosion and replace them, second check to see if a bulb is blown sometimes if 1 bulb is blown bolth lights wont work, and 3rd check the wires under the car for cuts or burns. if you have too replace them. if none of those work replace your foglamp on/off switch

one wire will for high beam
one wire will be for low beam
the last wire will be ground wire
as fog light have only one beam you can use the low beam wire and parallel wire it to the fog lights
that way you have the head lights still and the fog lights as accessories correctly wired according to regulations
how to do it simply-- find the low beam power wire ( light switch on low beam and power at the light bulb check ed with a multi meter set on volts
solder , piggy back, or double plug in a connection into that wire and run one wire to the left fog light and one to the right fog light connect each fog light to an individual ground wire and connect those wires back to the ground wire for the main lights
Now having done that simple addition to the lighting system another problem has come up
The wiring will now be too light to carry fog light current and or the light switch will burn out
To over come this problem, the circuit needs a relay
fit a relay on the bike and now run the low beam wire to a terminal of the relay
run the other terminal wire to ground
this enables the relay to operate when the low beam is switched on but at this will not switch on the lights yet
now you have to run a heavy gauge wire (fused at the battery) to one of the power terminals of the relay and from the other power terminal to the connection for the fog and low beam lights
Now it all works switch on the high beam and no for lights
change to low beam and the fog lights come on as well
All nice and legal
Of course if you don't care about being legal just buy a 30 amp toggle switch and run a fused wire directly to the switch from the battery to the lights and then to ground from the lights
You will know that the generator / alternator for the bike will not be able to run the fog lights with or without the main lights so what will you have achieved
If this vehicle came prewired, and all you had to do was plug in the fog lamps, then 50A fuse 7 in the power distribution center would be hot at all times, applying power to 15A fuse 24 and the fog lamp relay. Setting the left multifunction switch to FOG causes the body control module to close the fog lamp relay and turn on the fog lamps. It is possible your Jeep came prewired but without the fuses and relay so a dealer could install them to make your fog lamps work. You can check whether the fuses are in the box and OK and whether the fog lamp is installed or just an empty socket. Once everything has been checked and any missing parts installed, your fog lights should work.
The 15A fuse 5A in the engine compartment relay box supplies power to the foglight relay. When the headlights are on, operating the fog light switch causes the contacts of the foglight relay to close and the fog lights turn on. At the same time, power that flows through 15A fuse 4 in the engine compartment relay box causes the fog light switch indicator to light.
Power for the instrument cluster is obtained through 40A fuse 4 in the engine compartment relay box and is routed through the taillight relay in the box. When the lighting switch is set to TAIL, the relay closes and power is routed through 15A fuse 4 in a fuse box in the ECRB to some of the cluster lamps. Power passes through a rheostat that controls brightness of other cluster lamps. In addition, an illumination module controls the radio dial lamp, the A/C switch lamp, and the cigarette lighter lamp.
Hi, if the light on the switch is coming on, the relay is fine. Unless both bulbs are burned out, the problem is in the wiring between the relay and the lights. I recommend you trace the wiring backward from the passenger side fog light to the power box under the hood to see if the wire is cut. There should be two wires coming out of the power box--one going to each fog light. If the wiring looks good, it is also possible that the ground to the lights is bad.
Test the switch with a test light. Disconnect the wire to fog light and put test light on it and see if it lights up. Also test the hot positive wire going to switch. If it doesn't lite here, then the fuse may be bad or wire to the power source is broke or disconnected. Do the same for the switch. You can test power to the lights themselves with a test light or voltmeter.
the red is the power and the black is the ground.measure the resistance from the black wire to the car body,it should be a short or very low resistance.the red wires go to the fog light switch and the fusebox.if you ground the fog lights one at a time,they should come on.
use a test light to check for power do this where you plug in your bulb is no power then trace wires testing in the wires periodically to check for broken wires if everything checks out fine next check the fog light switch.
hi from uk the fog lghts? i assume front fog lamps ? the head lights have to be on dipped beam then the fogs will also work but in uk this is so as to prevent fogs only being used (blinding oncoming traffic ) if weather conditions req fogs to be used for poor visibility ? then the side/tail and h/lights must also be on like wise the rear fog light/s operate the same way hope this helps and makes perfect sense ?? all above is assuming bulbs have been checked and fuse/relay and power to each lamp ?
