    hi Coss 71

I finally found what cause my flasher to not working..It was two square fuses with a little plastic window on the top ,and color was pink. At first I could not figure that it could be these two fuses because the shematic in the cover of the fuses box did not mention the same purpose of those ones. One of the fuse was for brake lamps.

    Now all is working well.

Many thanks Coss 71 for helping me

    Please excuse my english !

    Very Best regards

You're welcome.
It was rather unusual that all of the flashing stopped at once.
The dash lights are usually a good indicator.
If the dash light flash really fast, a bulb is burned out.
To stop flashing completely is usually the sign of a flasher.

I'm very glad this was a simple fix for you. Have a great weekend.

2004 malibu blinkers dont blink. Manually you can turn off/on. Push flasher and all blinkers come on but dont blink. Please help, Tom

Common cause of such problems is the hazard light switch which is mostly little-used leaving the contacts dirty and oxidised.
Operating the switch rapidly for a few minutes often restores normal operation of the flashers.

Why does 2000 impala turn signals stop working?

I am told it is a relay in emergency flasher circuit.

The quick fix is to activate emergency flashers just for a few cylcles , a minute or two after car has been running. The directionals will work fine for the duration of that ride.

I have heard of peolple remvoving trim to get at switch, cleaning contacts and components of switch, but symptom eventually re-appeared. Cycling through e-flashers a few times works every time for me. - Rick Rock

Flasher relay location on 1964 impala ss

I think what you need is just the flasher itself and this is a silver colored round can that should have 2 or 3 prongs for the contacts that plug into the fuse box if you turn on your flashers or signals while touching the flasher you should feel a click you might have 2 one for each turn signals/emergency flashers and the other could be connected to a plug in the harness next to the fuse box so look for 2 and see which one is working sometimes they are dual and only one is used for both turn signals /emergency flashers I can't remember exactly what yours has its been 40 years since I had one but you will be looking for what was described above LATER MAN!

How to change the signal flasher

Models from 98 on use a combination flasher. This flasher is mounted either on the front or on the back of the junction block.
The combination flasher is a smart relay that functions as both the turn signal system and the hazard warning system flasher. It is designed to handle factory-fitted equipment. If aftermarket equipment is added to this circuit (such as trailers with lights), the flasher will automatically try to compensate to keep the flashing rate the same.
  1. The flasher contains sophisticated internal circuitry that cannot be tested with conventional equipment. Substituting a new unit for a suspected defective version is the easiest test.
  2. On air bag-e quipped vehicles, disconnect the battery negative cable(s) and wait two minutes from the air bag capacitor to discharge.
  3. Remove the junction block cover. If the flasher is accessible, grasp and pull the flasher from the fuse panel.
  4. If the flasher is not mounted on the outside of the junction block, remove the steering column cover from the instrument panel. Reach through the opening to access the fuse block on the back of junction block. Pull off the flasher.
  5. Inspect the socket for corrosion or any other signs of a bad contact.
To install:
  1. Install a new flasher in the connector.
  2. Install the fuse panel cover.

Fig. Early style flasher system: dual flashers mounted on junction (fuse) block. The turn signal flasher is the lower of the two; hazard flasher is the higher one

Turn Signals quit working

Sounds like the turn signal flasher is going bad. The easy way to find wher the flasher is hidden is turn the turn signal on and find the clicking, that is the flasher. The emergency flashers work fine because they use a different flasher.

Turn signal or emergency flashers wont work. parts store says they cant find a flasher for them. I checked the turn signal fuse and its good. Any ideas?

The flasher is located above the fuse panel. The relays are built into the switch itself. They have a recall on the 4 way flasher switch because it is faulty and causes blinkers not to turn on. Very common Malibu and other Gm problem

93 S10 left turn signals not working

Have you tried replacing the flasher? You'd think neither side would blink if the flasher was bad but I've seen this happen and it turned out to be the flasher. You could swap the signal flasher with the 4 way flasher to verify that's the problem before going out and buying one. Should be a few bucks at the parts store.
