Question about 1990 Chevrolet Lumina APV

1992 chevy lumina apv no start

I was driving down the highway when my van die suddenly, now it will not start.  Could it be the coil, can I check if this works?  or is it the crankshaft sensor most likely?  I hear the fuel pump run.  Can the fuel filter plug up and cause this not start?

Just got it started-- tested coil, it was fine, no start.  changed fuel filter, no start.  Removed and tested ignition control module--BAD, replaced, STARTED!!  I still can't find any fuses under the hood, where are they?  Thanks for help!!  Gary

You may check your fuses in the engine compartment

they are different on every car, and im not positive if every vehicle has them under the hood, but if you go get a chilton's manual, or your owners manual it should say some thing about where they are located in there

My 1992 chev lumina apv van stalls everytime i put on the brakes at every red light it restarts after no codes are coming up what could it be?:

check to make sure the power brake booster is not leaking, do this by starting the van and just let it idle in park and push the brake pedal if the engine stalls or surges or you hear a sucking noise under the dash then replace the power brake booster if there is none of these systems then replace the idle control motor. GOOD LUCK

Where is the cranking sensor located on a apv lumina 1992 mini van

The 1992 Lumina APV does not have a crankshaft position sensor. If your car has a tachometer in the instrument panel it gets it's "signal" from the ignition coil.

1992 lumina apv smells hot, does not register hot

White smoke means water/antifreeze entering the combustion chamber(s) or intake passages. Suspect a gasket leak somewhere (tighten all intake manifold nuts and bolts). Check all radiator and heater hoses for leakage and hose condition.

It on the fire wall. Look up under dash from under the hood. You'll need a 9/32 nut driver to loosen the screws.
