Question about 1993 Buick Century

Brake indicator warning light for a 1993 buick century

We just purchased a 1993 Century Buick from a friend and driving car home we noticed a warning indicator light on. It was a red square light on dashboard saying brake with an capital I and P, would you know what this means. There is no manual.

Check to see that the emergency brake isn't engaged. This happened to me a couple weeks ago after I did some work on the dash and had to barely depress the pedal. Also verify your brake fluid is ok.

My 1993 buick century stalls when i stop at a light or stop sign after i restart it it backfires multiple time before i can gain speed


I have a feeling your fuel pump is on its way out...but start by changing your fuel filter first, should be under $20....ie..not enough fuel getting through..

Buick century 1993 stalls while driving After driving for a while the car stalls out. It's dangerous because sometimes I'm on a highway. It starts immediately after that and goes a bit then stalls again....


i had the same problem with my 92 exept after mine stalled it wouldnt start for 20 - 30 mins... mine ended up needing a transmission flush for the stalling problem and i tried to drive everyday that helped

93 buick century -turn signals


The Buick Century uses separate relays for the hazard warning and turn signal functions. The turn signal relay is located on the accelerator pedal bracket, and the 4-way flasher relay is located on the convenience center near the left kick panel. Try switching these two relays with one another to see if your turn signals work instead of your 4-ways.

If the speedo is working ok then you will need to send the speedo head in for service, there is a company called SPEEDO TACH THAT DOES THESE REPAIRS.
