2010 subaru forester engine cuts out

consider this
when at the stop lights , you will have your foot on the brake as it will still be in drive or in gear and you don't want the car to move
a simple test is to apply the hand brake to stop the car and don't touch the foot brake
if it idles ok but cuts out when you apply the foot brake , replace the brake booster as it has a vacuum leak that is causing the problem
you can do this test in the garage by starting in neutral and allowing the engine to idle , then apply the foot brake
iof it dies it is the booster

MOTOR CUT OUT , OR WONT IDLE AT STOP STREETS OR ROBOTS oIL LIGHTS START FLICKERING AND ENGINE STALLS

if this is happening when the foot is on the brake, then it is possible that the brake booster is leaking air and running the engine too lean.
check by idling without the foot on the brake

Car stalls when foot off gas pedel does not hold idle

these trucks are equipped with an idle speed control motor. What you're describing sounds like that part has stopped working. The part is designed to maintain idle when gas pedal is released. Now if you hear an audible hissing noise under the hood, then theres a vacuum leak which can cause the same problem, but it sounds like the idle control motor. Good luck.

Engine starts, but won't idle, after I take foot off the gas

you may have an issue with the air idle control valve that allows air in the motor when you haVE your foot of the gas oedal. well it is actually an air pedal because it let more air in when you press on it and the computer gives it more gas. so if it runs and idles when your foot is on it and it won't if it is off then the air flow is getting cut off totaly and i would look at that idle air control valve or (iacv) good luck

Car will not idle must keep foot on gas pedal or it cuts off

Check the EGR operation. If this valve is leaking it will cause your symptoms.
