2001 Jeep Cherokee Laredo- electrical fan

Electric fan isn't working and we've tested with test light for power. There's no power at the fan plug but there's power at the relay which is a four prong. Should there be power at the relay on just one prong or more? We've jumped the fan and it does work. What is the solution for this problem to get the fan working??

The temp sensor located on the thermostat housing controls the relay which turns on the fan. Change the sensor and this sould fix the problem

Have you tested the fan, use a set of clip leads and supply 12 volts of battery power to the fan to see if it runs, another test is to disconnect the engine coolant temp fan switch, this sends the system into default and the fan will run.

You probably have an electric radiator fan that isn't working properly. First thing to check would be fuses, then swap relays if no blown fuses are seen, and finally check at the fan connector for power. If everything is good, you need to replace the fan motor. It isn't very fun trying to figure out how to get the fan shroud/fan out. The 4 bolts holding it to the radiator are in the worst spots and it will prob take an hour or so to get the bolts out before you realize that it's super tight in there. Good luck

If the fan is not cycling when the engine gets hot, you'll have to test the fan motor and the temperature sensor. If the fan is running and it's still hot, the thermostat may be the cause.

If this is a 4.7 the fan is computer controlled. Do not give into the temptation to direct wire this fan. You can blow your computer. Do yourself a favor, go to an expert on this one.

the fan relay may have went bad...if the fan doesnt come on the compressor will shut down because of excessive pressure...has he used a test light to check all the fuses under the hood and inside... pay particular attention to fuse 10 in the inside fuse box...if there is no power at all to that fuse it may be in the ignition switch

It is on the driver fender near air filter housing. Also next to the fuel pump ballast resistor. It is the white 3 inch long piece of ceramic on the fender with eletricial connectors on each end.
