It should be in the p/s pressure line near the pump.

SOURCE: power steering pressure switch Dodge Durango 2001

It's a $10-$15 switch threaded into a power steering pressure hose just below the power steering fluid reservoir on the driver's side of the engine near the front. Look at the reservoir cap, slightly to the right (facing the front of the engine), and down a few inches. Unplug the 2 wire connector, then hold the boss the switch is screwed into with one wrench and turn the switch with another wrench. When it comes loose, plug the opening with a finger so you don't drain all the fluid and quickly screw in the new switch. 5 minute fix, then have someone clear your trouble codes.

Having problem with power steering 2000 Dodge Durango. Could it be the power steering pressure switch?

The pressure switch is only there to tell the PCM (computer) when the pump is developing high pressure. If the engine RPM is near idle (as when parking), the PCM will increase idle speed through the inlet air control (IAC) valve to prevent stalling. The pressure switch has nothing to do with the function of the power steering itself.

The new power steering pump that I put on a 2001 dodge durango is leaking at the high pressure fitting it is tight.

The pressure hose is leaking due to forgetting to install the o-ring. You should disconnect pressure hose install o-ring then tighten!

How do I replace the power steering pressure switch on a 2000 durango 4.7L engine

The power steering pressure switch is threaded onto the high pressure hose that runs from the pump to the steering rack and pinion gear.
There are two hoses connected to the pump. Follow the high pressure line until you come to the switch, unthread it and install the new one. Fairly easy to do on this one. A little thread seal might be a good idea.
There may be some spillage so have a drain pan ready under the truck and have some new fluid ready to top it up afterward.
Just in case you are curious why the switch is needed I will give you the reason.
Your steering pump is driven by the engine so it does take a little horsepower. When turning it uses a little more power. So the switch sends a signal to the computer to bump the engine power up a little to compensate for the turning load. Keeps the engine speed from going erratic and/or stalling.
