Re: damaged facia on strut between doors on ford focus
The Dundee area? As in Crocodile Dundee, Australia? The source I was going to refer u to was : teamfordparts.com/partslocator/index I believe what u r looking for would be under (after u enter focus year, etc.) 'door' then click on exterior trim, then 'body side molding' Click on the eyeball to see what parts look like, what I found is directly after the front door glass , and at the same level. For some reason dr. side is $42, pass side is $33, there is also a clip (not shown for $2) that must hold it in place. Sorry I don't know the procedure to remove it ,but maybe if u see the clip u can determine how it's held on. U should be able to order this at any ford dealer, the site above has good prices, but u better check shipping cost, especially if u r down under. Let me know if this isn't what u r looking for. Good Luck!

What year is your focus ? Replacing a PCM - engine computer ,it will need to go to the dealer for programming ! You can't just replace a module from one vehicle to an other without programming PATS keys , VIN # an some other thing's it won't start !

On the door latch attached to the car body, the switch for the alarm is right behind the hook that the door locks on to. It should be covered in black rubber. While the key is in the car, press this switch in, wiggle it around, and see if it stops "alarming". It's possible this switch has been damaged and needs replacement.
Most of the time you can replace just the mirror housing for cheap if you can reuse the mirror. As for as just the black shroud i would recommend checking out www.usautoparts.com they have a very wide selection of just about everything needed to rebuild a damaged vehicle. If you cannot find one there i would recommend a reputable salvage yard.
My 1997 Ford Explorer AWD has shocks in the front.
Also, if yours has shocks, be certain you get replacement shocks for AWD/4WD and not 2WD versions. They are not the same; the 2WD shocks have a longer body/shorter rod that will rub on the drive shaft--at least until they are sufficient bent/dented to clear the shaft (at which time they may not be working so well any longer, having leaked...) ;-)
I highly urge you to take the car to a repair facility. Replacing struts is very dangerous especially when removing the coil spring from the strut. Without the proper tools you or someone close can be seriously hurt. If you must replace them yourself than go with what is known as a ready strut. It is a complete assembly. New strut, spring, strur bearing, and strut boot preassembled. They are more money but worth it to avoid getting hurt.
