all of the radio control lights on the steering wheel do not work. In addition, some (about half) of the lights in my actual radio do not work as well.

If this is the lights for the switches in the steering wheel, these are LED's. The switches are made in such a way that it is prudent to replace the switch rather than try to take it apart and replace the LED. The switches are relatively inexpensive and are very easy to replace. While the LED's are rather inexpensive, the time that it would take to get the switch apart, replace the LED and then attempt to put it all back together is not worth the twenty to thirty bucks for a new switch.

I have replaced three of the four that are in my steering wheel. The hardest part to the whole thing is making the wiring connection in the back of the switch for the two large ones on the center crossbar. My fingers aren't quite slim enough to make the connection easily. I found using a pair of hemostats or some type of thin clamp with a handle works very well.

Why does the radio works on the wheel and not on the radio area ?

there may be a loose connection to the wiring behind radio ,also check your radio manual to see if there a function for only using steering wheel controls or vise versa

I have gmc 2007, the lights on the steering wheel, i think they are called radio controls. how do you fix this? i have only oe that is still on.

if this is a 2007 classic the switch have to be pulled out of the wheel and then pulled apart to change the soldered in light bulbs. or just change the switch with new ones, your choice. You can remove them by prying them out with a small flat head screw driver, then unclipping the lock pin to unlock the connector.

How do you remove the remote radio controls from the steering wheel in a 2005 LeSabre?

First disconnect negative battery cable.
Then go behind steering wheel, there will be about 4 screws to remove, then the steering wheel can easily be pulled apart with no worries. Then unscrew unplug and pop out your controls.

When driving at night, not all the lights on the steering wheel, cruise control, and radio illuminate. Fuses? How do I know which one?

These steering wheel lights are usually sealed units, much like radio backlights. They can be repaired, but they have to be sent out for service, which means removal of the steering wheel, etc.
Speak to your dealer about the cost of such a service, your options, and their recommendations.

Steering wheel lamps do not work (radio controls, temp, cruise)

The lights on the steering wheel are in the switches. To fix the lights, the whole switch needs to be replaced. Same thing goes for the Tempature Controls and radio. Overall, I think it would be very expensive to replace all of the switches to get the lights working. I have the same vehicle, and almost all of the lights are out.

I think the lights behind the gage controls are replaceable, although you still have to rip out most of the dash to get to them.

I have the auto-sense wipers, so I was leaving the wipers on all the time, and the would only work when needed. The bad part I finally found out about this was that while the wiper switch is on (even though they were not wiping), it caused all of the dash lights, switch lights and rear parking light to be on. I think this alone significantly cut down on the life of the bulb.

For now, I am just living without the lights. The temperature control is very expensive (just the part alone).

You can usually find the best price for these things at
