1990 cadillac seville starter

Car will not start. The battery and cables have been checked. Can not take the starter off all the bolt and the starter are loose from the motor, but it will not pull through the bottom of the top. Is there something else to take off so the starter will come through?

Have the starter tested for free at a parts store. If it is good, check battery terminals, cables, and connections-all of them-for a clean, tight connection. If still no go, have the starting circuit checked-the neutral safety switch may be a problem.

1990 Cadillac Seville won't start.

Car not starting or turning over indicates towards multiple possibilities. It can be issue with battery or weak battery. But if battery checks out ok, then it can be starter issue or faulty alternator or problem with low fuel pressure or no spark at spark plugs due to dirty spark plugs or faulty ignition coil or injectors getting cracked or dirty and needs to be cleaned.

To confirm the problem, the basic troubleshooting is required.

1990seville wont start battery good will not turn over

Suggest you try a jump start of your car. If it starts, then it is either the battery or the alternator. If it doesn't then, you can take off the serpentine belt and try to rotate the engine with a large wrench (CW). If it rotates, then it will be your starter or starter solenoid or the starter relay.

I have a 2000 cadillac seville sls that i just rescently put a alternator in.. But, when i go to start the engine it wont even turn over an it sounds like the fuel pump is constanly running.. Help

Alternator has nothing to do with starting a car

Battery ---dead,old,etc
Cables --loose,poor connections
Starter Solenoid --contacts burnt
Starter --- worn out

Fuel Pump should time out, if engine doesn't
start in 15 sec
