Question about 2002 Chevrolet Impala

Changing Brake Pads

Is there an online writeup for how to change the disk brake pads for the 2002 Impala? I'm looking for problems unique to the chevy. I've changed brake pads on motorcycles before but never on a car. Thanks.

Well the first thing U need to do is clamp off your break line,{u only have to do this if it has abs}which that year.then you nee to break open the break bleeder vavle.Whants you have don this then you are raedy to unbolt the break housing and remove the breaks and replace.Put back togather and close the bleeder vavle and take the clamp off the break line.Now you are ready to bleed the breaks.The same way for all four.{if your car has disk breaks in the back}

Where can I find a video on changing the front passenger side brake pads on a 2002 Sable?

On youtube. Also you never change just one side you always do both or your car will pull when braking.

I have envoy brakes are realy noise

When you step on the brakes, the pads vibrate. It may be you didn't put the little gaskets, or anti-squall stuff on the BACK of the pads.
If your "kit" didn't include it, get some copper lube and apply to the back of the pads.
I know, means you have to pull the pads but it's either that or live with the noise.
Have fun:

Failed parking brake

a frozen shoe actuator is the most common problem; a poorly adjusted system is the second most common cause. you say that you replaced pads; did you remove the disks? your parking brake is inside the disks and it uses shoes, not pads.

Front end pulling to left

Your RIGHT side brake disk caliper is probably siezed so all braking power is going to the left causing the pull.
Wheel off, disk pads out, pump out the pistons in the caliper JUST A LITTLE. Clean with a copper brush and brake fluid until polished (Careful not to catch the rubber dust seals). Push pistons back in. Re-fit pads and wheel.

Other thoughts on this. Check for a lip on the disk caused by wear as well.

That's the super cheap, pay nothing for parts option. You should consider:
Changing both sets of brake pads
If the disks are worn, changing the disks too (you may be able to grind a lip off if you have the nerve).
If the caliper still sticks, new pistons or piston and caliper

Do i need to change the brake pads and discs???

No you don't, you can have them turn the brake disk/rotor . Turning the brake disk/rotor is when you have the surface of the disk resurfaced by having a brake lath cut the high spots down. The disk are cheap enough now that most will just replace the disk/rotor the same time they replace the brake pads. You can pick up performance drilled or slotted brake disk/rotor for almost the same price as the OEM disk/rotor. Good luck and hope this helps, you can pick up the slotted brake disk/rotor at Auto Zone for a reasonable price and they will have the step by step instruction replacing the disk and if you like to just have the disk/rotor turned, they can do they there too.
