VW passatt warning lights staying on

The brake pad and oil warning lights remain on even though the problems have been fixed, on my 1999 VW Passatt

    My brake light, ABS light and oil light all started going off on my 1999 VW Passat after I got my brakes changed at Brake Check. I took it to them and they repeatedly told me it had nothing to do with the brakes. I don't believe them (it can't be coincidence) but also don't know enough about cars to argue with them.

Check the wires that are going to the brake pad sensors.Some shops will install pads that don't have the sensor connections on them, causing this light to stay lit.

Get the brakes and a service manual and do it yourself. You'll need a basic wrench set (metric), a strong 'C' clamp, and of course, the brake pads. The pads will run about $50 to do the whole cars. Visit your local Auto parts store for more info.

I have a VW touran diesel 1.9. Recently there was a brake pad warning light indicated on my dash board, so I took it to my closest gargae to check. They replaced two new brake discs and the brake pads....

nope,it has to go back to a dealer(the computer is too expensive for a diy mech)they will reset it IF GENUINE parts have been used, as sensors are inbuilt into the pads.

Wipers working when you pull on stalk to wash

while someone is pulling the stalk, use a meter or test light to check for voltage at the washer pump, located on the bottom of the washer fluid reservoir. if there is voltage, the pump is bad. if no voltage, it may be a fuse, bad switch or a break in the wiring.

Brake pad warning light on golf gti 1.8t 1999 t reg

Brake wear indicator and low brake fluid warning indication are two different circuits.

They are not related.

==
Easy route to check brake pads is the measure the gab between the rotor and the metal portion of the brake pad.

If it's low then replace it.
==

The right way is to pull the tires and measure the thickness of the remaining brake pad.

===

Most shop give free brake inspection with oil change,

Check it out before the pad cuts into the rotor and it will DOUBLE the cost of your brake job.

Oil Light comes on VW passat

Start checking the oil level, if oil is low then the problem is a leak or weared rings.

If oil level is ok, check that the oil pump has enough pressure.

If oil pump is also fine, then scan the ECU (car computer) and replace the sensor if you do not find anything else being wrong.
