I have a 2000 jeep wrangler, 4.0L 6 cyl. what would be the fluid capacities for the transmission and the transfer case?

If you have the automatic trans it takes 3.8 litres of fluid if doing a service with the filter. If you drain the torque converter (usually only on a tranny swap or new install) it takes 4.7 litres if it is the 30RH tranny and 6.4 litres if it is the 32RH tranny (call the dealer with your vin number to find out which one you have).

If you have a manual trans it takes 2.3 litres.

As for the transfer case there are 4 different transfer cases used that year.

NP242 takes 1.4 litres
NP247 and NP249 take 1.6 litres
NP213 takes 1 litre

Again you can call the dealer with your vin to see what transfer case you have if you don't know.

How many litres of transmission fluid does a 2006 Dodge Charger R/T (5.7L V8) contain to be considered the proper amount of transmission fluid? Ex. The 2006 Dodge Charger R/T should take 6.7 litres of oil...

I don't know the exact liters, but if you are just changing the filter it would be 5 qts, maybe 5 liters. And if you are in a total rebuild, it would be 15 qts, or say 15 liters, We don't work with liters over here. I know your 5.7 liter engine is about 340 cubic inches. A quart is real close to a liter, 3.8 liters = 4 qts. If your tranny doesn't have a dipstick, it has 2 plugs on the right side of the tranny, one for level, one for fill, If you pull the level and nothing seeps out, fill it up, till it seeps out the bottom, then put the plugs back in. The tranny will drip for a month if you let it, so when you change the filter, you never really know how much dripped out, exactly, you could measure what came out, but what if it was low to start? Check it out, hope this helps.

2004 dodge sprinter trans stuck in low gear . i am trying to locate the trans module

Check under seat unplug control module see if it is wet with fluid . cost me $138.00 fee.
Engine light on than next day off may 2 day then on at same place drive kid to school.
issue with transmission fluid wicking up the harness into the control module and causing the module to malfunction. Usually, the harness from the transmission to the ETC module is replaced and the module is replaced provided the leak is repaired. In some cases this may be more than is actually needed but it usually fixes the concern. Transmission fluid does not actually damage the module and can be flushed away with board cleaning solvent or electrical contact cleaner as a first attempt. Always repair the leak before replacing a module.

Tranny slipping on cold start

Usually transmission fluid needs to warm up to work more efficiently, but if you have clean fluid and the proper fluid lvl then you still shouldnt really have this problem. I recommend a filter and fluid change on tranny.. That should fix the problem. Hopefully.....Good Luck

I have a 2008 dodge ram 3500 with 112000 miles. and wanting to know if it is safe to chang the fluid in the transmission since it has never been changed and it bing only a year and 7 months old 99% highway...

If your fluid has any metal in it or has a bad brownish discoloration I would not mess with it, that means you are going to need it rebuilt soon anyways, and changing the fluid would speed up that process. If your fluid is still red and smells like transmission fluid then I suggest that you have the fluid changed and make sure that they hot flush the system. Also a big problem with dodge trannies is that at the milage that you have it at now, i would put an external cooler on the thing and bypass the radiator all together. You don't know how many dodges I seen come back because the cooler lines have stopped up after a service. Dodge puts a checkball in the cooler line that you can easily drill out or bypass. FYI.. you should be pumping about 1 gallon tranny fluid a minute.

Cant find dip stick for transmission

this is a sealed transmission, it has no stick stick, the fluid must be checked by the dealer using an electronic scan tool.

Radiator vs. transmission

same issue. tranny fluid is cooled via intercooler that runs along bottom of radiator. this developed a crack and because tranny fluid is under more pressure, started dumping tranny fluid into radiator. A couple guys recommended replacing rad, then servicing tranny just in case any coolant leaked backwards.
