Most cars have the dash light wire in the wires going to the radio. Did you use a store bought adapter the plugs into the honda wire harness to connect the radio? Idf not you may have the dash light wire grounded with the radio and it's blown the dash light fuse. first unplug the radio. then go though the fuse and find the blown one under the dash fuse panel. Replace the fuse.( if their not uswed up the fuse panel has extra fuses and thier marked as spares). try the dash lights, if their workingyou need to find the wire at the radio and make sure it"s not being connected to ground. You might need to use a test light to look for power and when you find it turn the lights on and off the be shure that you have the right wire. If it's still not working you may need to investagate the dash light dimmer swich that turns the brightness up and down to the dash lights. The overload as the radio was connected possibly wrong can blow this switch instead of blowing the fuse. The swich pries out of the dash and you can test it withthe test light. One wire is ground ones the power from the dash panel fuse coming from the headlight switch and the other is the lights thems selves. This switch it'self lights in the dark, so it has a ground for it's bulb.
you have a loose wire or a short somewhere in the dash. Hopefully you can fix without changing the harness out. I'd try some test to try to isolate the problem. with the engine off, and the lights on and radio on, reach under the dash to where your fuses are located and lightly move the wires coming from the fuse box watching and listening for the short. If you cant locate here, move your hand deeper into the dash again lightly mving the wires behind the radio and then the light swtich. good luck of finding this.
i cant tell you what colors are what but you can find out with a cheap test light and AA battry first turn the ignition on and find a good ground.. A screw or bolt in dash that goes it to something metal and attach the non pointer end of the test light to that spot.. than touch each wire lead one at a time once you find one the test light will light.. write down the colors on a piece of paper once you find 2 or mabey 3 power wires and have written down the colors. now shut the ignition off and test thoes wires again and find the only that still has power.. that is your constant or memory lead.. the other is ignition switching.. now the other wires that did not have power.. try toucging the AAA battery to colors and listen for a speaker cherp, and continue witing doun location untill you have each speaker colors found now attach the test light to the memory wire and touch one of the last remaining wires untill you have a flash of the test light that is your ground.. If in the earler color serching you found 3 power wires than one is from the dash dimmer attach tghe test light to ground wire and find whitch of the two dims with the dash.... thats about it except finding the polarity of each speaker and that can be done by listining to it as youhook up each speaker and if base responce is going away as you hook up each one at a time than switch the wires to that speaker and you will here the bass response return
Pull it back out, (Radio) and recheck your steps. Something is not hooked up right. When you pull it back out, See if it goes back working normal. Retrack the wires. You cut are hook up something wrong????
