Please check the fuse box yu can pull out the fuse which controls the buzzer and the interior light the easiest way to determine this fuse is to turn on the head light and start pulling thefuse out until it stops buzzing!!

For '99-'05 Jetta, Golf, and GTI's, you're looking of fuse 14. Its a 10A fuse near the middle of the upper panel. I found a number card inside the fuse box to help me find it.

Door ajar light and buzzer go on and off irregularly

The door switch or the wiring to it is faulty.
Take out the door switch and look behind it. It is in the door pillar and should be easy to remove.

1996 ford ranger door ajar warning buzzer goes on and off intermitently

Hi and welcome to FixYa, I am Kelly.

I had this exact same problem and the fix was to remove inside door panel and phycically bend the switch mount closer to the door latch mechanism. The switch itself is not adjustable as it had no threads. There was a retaining clip to hold the switch in place. I had to take out the door panel 2 times to get the adjustment right. Thought I had it the first time.... and the problem came back. The second time bent the bottom of the mount so that switch would rest closer to the mechanism. Worked fine until I sold it in 2002,

2002 ford taurus door ajar light wont go off

This is usually a problem with the door ajar switch, which lives in the door portion of the doorlatch assembly. It is usually the drivers door, as that one gets the most use. You can tell for sure with a scanner. I usually take the latch assembly out, but some guys with little hands can install them in place. This does , either way require removal of the inner door panel. Good luck, and let me know if I can help furthur.

Sounds like a bad door switch on one of the four doors. The switches have multiple contacts to serve both the dome light and the alarm system. The actual switch button is under a rubber boot with ribbed sides. The switches themselves are under the interior trim behind the doors.

I suspect you have a bad door ajar switch on one of your doors.

The switch is on the door latch. try pushing each door in with your hand one at a time and see if the warning goes away.
The Lighting control module is $500 and controls a lot of the vehicle functions. It is part of the headlamp switch. It has to be configured by the dealer with his NGS tester before it will work. Ebay has them cheap sometimes. Only buy Continental LCM for your model year.

info
When at least one door is ajar and the key is in the RUN position, the door ajar cluster lamp is activated and remains on until all doors are closed. A warning tone will sound once any time the key is in the ignition switch and any door is open.

03 Jetta headlight warning buzzer does not sound.

The sensor is in the door panel itself. The only fix I've found is to dismantle the door to replace the circuit board/sensor contained near the outside door handle. My 02 Jetta hasn't dinges for a few years now.

Door ajar alarm comes on while driving.

there is a switch in each door that senses the door is open, it is called the door ajar/courtesy light switch (imagine that), they stick and have this problem, replace it.

Ignition alarm will not stop 97 ford f150

The key switch usually breaks or wears out and makes contact. It is on the lock cylinder. This would cause the chime to not come on, or stay on. Sounds like the switch is bad.

1997 F-150/250 Warning Chime, Key-In-Ignition The key-in-ignition chime warns that the key is still in the ignition when the driver's door is ajar. The key-in-ignition warning chime will sound when:
  • GEM: Driver door is ajar, the ignition switch is in the OFF/LOCK or ACC position and the keys are in the ignition.
  • CTM: Driver door is ajar, the ignition switch is in the OFF/LOCK, ACC or RUN position and the keys are in the ignition.
The key-in-ignition warning chime will stop sounding when:
  • Driver door is closed.
  • Key is removed from the ignition.
  • GEM: Ignition switch is switched to the RUN position.
The key-in-ignition warning chime inputs are:
  • Ignition switch RUN position (battery potential on both RUN and RUN/ACC inputs).
  • Ignition switch ACC position (battery potential on RUN/ACC input only).
  • Key-in-ignition switch (grounded with key-in-ignition, open circuit with key-out).
  • LH door ajar switch (open circuit with door closed, grounded with door ajar).
This is a pic for a 98, could not find one for 97 which may be the older style which is more prone to break.
