My car ran fine until one day when i tried to start it and it wouldn't start. I couldn't affordt to take it to get it checked out so it just sat in my driveway for some time. I went back to my car to attempt to start it and it ran fine for about a week and then it wouldn't start again. It sounds like its trying to start but it just dies.

I would replace the fuel filter first and go from there.

You may want to check the fuel pump or the fuel filter may be cloged . Unless If the check light is on or flashing you may want to check for trouble codes

William, Check for trouble codes to aide diagnosing, could your security light be on, try your spare key as the chip may be bad in the one you are trying to use. Possible MAF(Mass Air Flow Sensor) faulty, try unplugging and start. Check the attached links, instruction and guides, Good luck

Car stalls after 10 min of driving.after sitting for an hour i have to turn ignition an crank over 4/5 times before car will start.i change cps, plugs+wires, ignition controll module, mass air flow...

umm... They symptom you describe fits a couple of things that immediately spring to mind.

Try removing your fuel cap and see if this improves matters. If there is a blocked vent (usually in the fuel cap or separate to-atmosphere breather tube, this can cause a vacuum in the fuel tank. This vacuum can cause the car to splutter and stall. Then you have to wait until air slowly finds it way back into the tank before the car can be restarted.

The other thing that springs to mind is a failing fuel pump.

My 95 lincoln town car wont start but turns over if i tap on the mass airflow sensor then go back in the car it trys to start but doesnt could the mass air flow sensor cause this ? and be my problem?

you need to check to see if it has spark at the spark plugs
check to see if you have fuel pressure at the fuel pressure test port at the fuel rail.
if you don't have either one then it may be the ignition module
but first check all your fuses

92' Honda prelude doesn't start

Change ignition module in distributor. If it is actually starting and stopping right away, and the fuel filter is good, it will be the MAF. Mass air flow sensor. But if it was that it probably wouldn't start even after an hour. Sounds more like the module. You can change the whole distributor if that's easier for you. If it was me, i'd get one from a wrecker.

When your car acts up... tap on your Mass Airflow Sensor (MAF) and if your car idles fine and stops sputtering while doing this replace your MAF sensor.

My buick riviera wont stay started

Mine did the same thing, it apparently was the mass airflow sensor, however the computer module also had to be replaced. It runs fine now!!
