Where do I add coolant for the air conditioning?

I take you bought one of those 20 oz bottles of fill it yourself freon?? No problem, they work, follow the aluminum pipes out of the compressor on the front of the motor, they should head back to the firewall, somewhere on the top of these you will find a little cap, they should be marked, H and L, you want the L, low pressure side, It is the only side it will fit on anyway, fire up the engine, turn on the air, shake and squirt, watch the meter, take it up to full. You should be ok, for about 6 months, then, guess what?

Specifically where is the heater core located on a 96 Buick Skylark 4 cyl. w/air?

Hi there,

Well the heater core is located under the dash on the passenger side, usually cased in a plastic housing. You may have to remove the glove box in order to have access to. And when you get to the point, when you are disconnecting the coolant lines and remove the core you use some clothes to protect the carpet as fluid may drip. Good Luck!!

Put a test light on the starter ignition terminal,on the starter,if the test light lights up as soon as you turn the key to the start position, and the starter delays starting, check the voltage at the same spot, with a volt meter. If the voltage is lees than 12 volts, and then jumps to the 12 volts, after the delay, then replace the ignition switch. If the voltage is at 12 volts when the key is turned to start the car,and the delay occurs, replace the starter.

That sludge. Isnt that why you are cleaning it? That passage should have a vacuum on it when the engine is running, you may need a stiff wire and carb cleaner to clean it
