Question about 1996 Volvo 960
There is an or-range colour flashing arrow on my dashboard. Whenever it appears my car does not function very well. It becomes very heavy and I have to accelerate very hard for the car to move. The arrow sometimes disappears after I have driven the car for a long time and it has heated up.
I have a 1998 V70 wagon with the same problem, my mechanic did a diagnosis and found it was one of the solenoids -whatever those are- and the fix was a replacement, Labor was about 3 hours and the part was about $150+-, total cost was under $500. That was the problem in my case. But I have also read that the solution could be a transmission rebuild, I guess depending on what part of the transmission is broken. Y.

this warning light or any other stays on in the dash it is indicating
that the systems control module (or the system sensor in the case of
lights like low oil pressure, door open indicators etc.) has detected
a fault, it then disables the system (this applies to ABS,TCS, TCM,
SRS and BCM faults and others) as long as the light is on. You must
now have the dealer hook up a special electronic diagnostic tool and
"scan" the system for the fault code that is stored for the
