sometimes a bulb can be bad and appear good or there may be nothing wrong with the element but could be a problem in the contacts. if the turn signal is blinking fast and brake light out is an indicator that the bulb is bad if you do not want to replace the bulb without knowing for sure if it is bad take the one out of the other side and try it on the left and see if the problem changes to the right side. although bulbs are only about two dollars for a pack of two even though it seems good replacing it to see if it fixes it would be the first step in troubleshooting the problem. to eliminate the easiest most obvious solution first. i think a new bulb will fix your problem
Since it's only on one side I would assume it's the socket itself. Try using a wire brush on the inside of it and putting a little dielectric jelly in the socket, it could be losing contact. If that doesn't solve it clean it really good and test it with a voltage tester to make sure you're not getting squirrelly current. If it is, check it further up the circuit until you find where it's good and change the wire from there to the socket. Good luck.
when a blinker goes faster or slower than normal its usually a blown bulb.does the right blinker work?do 4 ways flash?try a new flasher usually located on fuse panel, when flashing you can hear it clicking.it sounds like your tail lights share a ground wire, when you switched right to left the electricity may have been going ''backwards''through the ground.
replace flasher......usually located in fuse block area...listen in this area....select passenger side ...then select driver side...you can hear flasher clicking...you have seperate flashers for each...FLASHERS are small cubes plugged into fuse block....probable bad driverside flasher
