Noise when heat or air is on, a little smoke on by passenger winshield

Crackling noise when air or heat is on, maybe something got into the blower. last weekend I had the air on alot while shopping and when I returned home I had some smoke coming out of hood by passanger side of windshield. Engine very hot on passenger side. I opened the hood and let it cool off. I noice a rubber burning sent slightly.

Last week my mechanic replaced radiator and alternator. Could my mechanic have dropped something into the blower when working on my car? I am planning saturday to drive for a hour or so with the heat/air on so I can see if the problem occur again and then go straight to my mechanic so he can actually see the smoke or smell the rubber burning sent.

Please help I just spent 750 for alll the work I had done. Want to give this car to my daughter soon and buy a new one.

I have a 2009 dodge journey and the radiator had to be replaced due to a leak. The shop said they had to flush the AC as well due to the placement in the car. They recharged the AC and replaced the

Most likely there is still an air pocket in the heater core. These can be a little difficult to purge the air out after working on the cooling system.

Typically all that needs to be done is run the engine with the radiator cap off. Once the engine is up to normal operating temperature snap the throttle several times. Top off the coolant as necessary. And replace the radiator cap.

I usually have the heater set to full heat and the blower set to high when I do this . If all the air is out of the heater core it should blow air hotter than 150 degrees. If there is still air you should be able to feel it get noticeable cooler when the engine is at idle and a lot hotter with the RPMs raised.

Go back to the shop. Have them go on a test drive with you. Make sure you both hear the noise. Confirm that the noise is air in the heater core. They shouldn't have any problem rectifying the situation.

one last thought. If the noise goes away for a couple of days after they purge or burp the air out of the system than there may be a more serious problem. If the engine overheated it is possible that the head gaskets have failed and the air in the cooling system is actually exhaust from the engine.

Keep in touch and let us know how everything turned out.

I have no heat or air blowing out of my vents. Any ideas?

still nothing,????
why do this backwards. ??
or not using simple diagnosis>?
so really you failed to state the beginning symptoms?
was it just just noise. or noise and no blow.
or the noise is gone,, but my fix broke the blower.
there will no heat not moving, if the blower is dead.
get heat , moving in non circ, mode.?
sure i bet you do an that is SOMETHING.
does the blower make sounds like a normal blower, then if no air flow
the dampers are bad.

blower silent? on all speeds, , do say so.
blower works only on high (sounds) ?
if the blower is running, surely you can hear it spin fast.
and there is no flow, the damper is bad or the blower fan blade set screw
is missing and or loose. did you check that screw first. before.
replacing the motor? id not ever skip that step.
we can not help you ,with no facts or symptoms but still nothing.

Buzzing noise when turning on heat or A/C. Sounds stops when shutting of heat or A/C. Buzzing timed with revving engine. Maybe a fan?

I would think that the blower motor is defective, have a shop take a listen to it to confirm my guess about this..

I have a 1995 GMC Yukon, last weekend my blower motor cut out than back on and since than I have not been getting any heat. I fluched the heater core, replaced the lines to the heater sore, sut the lines...

if you have 20 degrees difference that is quite a bit of a difference.i would say that the heater core is plugging up,remember the fan blowing air across the core is cooling the temp more and with a 20 degree difference its alot.you can try to run CLR through it a couple of times to see if it will help flush out more dirt.sometimes flushing just doesn`t do it.

Loud noise when air is on had belt tension replace still making noise now im told its the engine mount

This is hard to answer without hearing the noise, a 2005 altima it would have to have alot of miles or have been drinen hard to need a motor mount, the compressor could be noisey or may be a loose heat sheild on the exhaust,a squeal noise would be a belt a rattle noise could be a pulley going bad or something loose, when ac is on it puts more strain on engine causing things to shake,i would have a second shop just look at it before doing anything, see if they both come up with the same problem, and dont tell them what the other shop told you about the mount, tell them only after they tell you its something else.

1999 town car blower motor resistor.....maybe?

The Blower Motor Resistor is a common problem in your car but not for the problem you describe. When the Heat/AC won't blow on all speeds, the blower motor resistor is at fault. When air won't blow out of vents, bi-level, or floor the problem is the blend door actuator. This is vacuum driven and diverts the air to where you select. When air will only blow from one place (usually the defrost) then the blend door actuator is the problem. This can sometimes be corrected if there's a vacuum leak (usually under the hood in front of the passenger you'll find the vacuum line and can trace it backward to find a leak). If no leak can be found, the blend door actuator itself is defective and needs replacement.
