I replaced my parking light bulb in about a minute. You just have to pull the cables. Believe me, this is the procedure stated in my SAAB repair manual. Those cables are reinforced, don't worry. To tell the truth a would have not done that if I hadn't seen it in the manual . Contact me and I can send you the diagram with the step by step directions.

I had trouble changing the parking light bulb on my 2004 saab 9-3 and the saab dealer wouldn't tell me how to do it. I found Fabian Romero's advice (above) very helpful and after removing the high beam light bulb , I just pulled on the re-enforced wires of the parking light and it came right out. I then changed both my bulbs successfully !!

In my case, I just pull out from front.
It was easy. Do not open hood.
It is installed with plastic latch.
Just push one side(from front to rear direction of car),
then you can open the light housing.
Then hold light assembly and turn housing 20~45 degree.
Housing will be separated from light assembly.

The front parking lights are secured by a single screw that is shared by the headlight assembly at the frontmost corner of the car. It is a Torx (T25 or T27, can't remember). If you remove this screw and carefully lift it out so it does not fall somewhere you will never find it, you should be able to pull the parking light forward and away from the fender enough to remove it. Now you can access the bulbs at your leisure.

How do you replace the fog light bulb on 2008 avalanche

    • 1 Open the hood and reach down into the engine bay for the fog light assembly. If you cannot reach the fog light assembly from the top you may need to get underneath the truck to reach it. Remove the electrical plug running to the fog light ballast.
    • 2 Remove the bulb. Unlock the fog light bulb by turning it counterclockwise and pulling it straight out of the assembly.
    • 3 Slide a new bulb into the fog light assembly. The part number you will need for the new bulb will be located on the ballast or base of the old bulb.
    • 4 Turn the bulb clockwise to lock it into the fog light housing.
    • 5 Reconnect the electrical connector to the bulb ballast.

I have tried to change my headlights on my Acadia and the area to reach is to small for my hands is there any other way to change the lights without playing with the lamp alignment?

Hi, viewer. In my practice, I was able to change the high beam bulbs and signal bulbs by removing the forward portion of the front wheelhouse liner. Lots of patience though. The low beam bulbs and the park lamp bulbs is somewhat difficult to reach, may even require removal of the whole assembly especially if the lowbeam bulb connectors are burned.

2006 ram1500 my left headlight will not work on low, high beams and driving lights are fine

If your vehicle is 4 years old, I would suggest replacing both left and right headlght bulbs. It appears that your low beam filiment in your left light bulb is blown. I am assuming the wiring to the light socket is OK. Your local auto parts store can help you with this and sell you the correct bulb type for your vehicle. The bulbs are accessable behind the light assembly. The socket the bulb sits in can be removed from the rear of the light housing by turning it counter clockwise and pulling out. Replace the bulb. Don't touch the new bulb glass with your hands, but use a clean towel as not to get any oil on the glass. Rinstall bulb into socket and place the socket back on the light housing and turn it until it locks. Hopfully your truck is friendly and you can reach behind the light assembly easy.

Hope this helps.

'88 ford F-150 4x4. have no head, paking, or inter. lights. no horn, cig. lighter, and no memory on radio. all of this just comes and goes as it pleases.

Hi and welcome to FixYa!

Common cause of this issue is a faulty battery or a loosen battery connector and a faulty alternator. If the battery is faulty it tends to fail when the car is parked. It may drain while it sit which can cause to electrical failure. Try to tighten the battery connectors too.

A faulty alternator can cause the lights and other electrical accessories fail too. If the alternator fails to cycle the discharge energy the electrical accessories may not work so you will need a replacement.

Hope this helps and thank you for using FixYa! have a good one!

Tail light blinker replacement

Laura E;

Most tail light housings use the same approach. The bulb is removed from the housing by twisting
the back of the bulf where the wires are. Usually the bulb itself has a rubber back and turning it about a quarter turn counterclockwise (remember lefty=loosey; righty = tighty) will release the bulb it from the taillight housing. Take the bulb with you when you go for a replacement to be sure you get the right one.
The bulb will only fit one way into its socket and the socket will only fit one way into the housing.

Good luck ,

Replace headlight

Remove coolant overflow bottle and windshield washer bottle neck (by turning neck counterclockwise about 3/4 inch and pulling up on it). That will open up the light bulb area. Nissan has a headlamp campaign, where bulbs get replaced for free to you and in some cases the whole headlamp gets replaced, bacause of the plastic falling apart, where bulb sits. Check with your dealer if the campaign is open on you vehicle. FREE
