Question about 1999 Volvo C70

Did make a mistake buying this car?

I recently purchased a used C70 with 95,000 miles. Mechanically the car runs great, but it is all the little problems that are killing me - most of which I now know are commons problems with this model: The visors are broke, the passenger door lock won't engage, the passenger window goes down using the driver side buttons, but not back up?, the passenger seat has been stuck forward, and the key has already gotten stuck in the ignition! Please tell me I did not make a mistake purchasing this car? In regard to the visors has anyone found a place to buy replacements at a reasonable price? I also need an additional key made and the dealer told me it would cost $400. Can this be right?? Thanks for any and all help.......

I noticed my key recently getting stuck in the ignition and frustrating as it was, once i discovered the button on the auto gear leaver was stuck in, my problem was solved. I.e. Just pull the button out. I'd put a pound to a penny on that being your problem. :)

I don't have very good answers for you. I also own a C70 1999 has about 144000 miles right now and the passenger visor is broken. My brother took out the light bulb for me because it was draining the car battery, and I had to replace the car battery because of it. My windows work fine, sorry about yours. One time the key got stuck in the ignition and I panicked, prayed and kept trying to pry it out, luckily it came out and has never happened again....knock on wood. My driver seat is stuck and will not move anymore. I fixed it once and it cost $120-150, can't remember. Then it broke again, and I refuse to fix it again. But it is stuck in an okay position for me to drive. A little tight for bigger people/dudes.

I went to the dealer to have another key made and it cost $100. The visor thing, some people use velcro to hold it up if it is broken. What I personally did was I took a plastic white hanger and cut the top off so that I had the bottom part and parts of the corners left, kind of like a weird "s" shape, and then I just tweeked the plastic hanger and I use it as a weird paper clip thing to keep my visor up, since it was always hanging down broken, on the passenger side. Hard to really explain what I did, but it works well for me.

Hello, Im here because I have a volkswagen jetta

No one can help on a car with 150,000 miles

You need about $500.00 worth of testing, to see
if is worth keeping the motor mechanically

People get rid of vehicles for a reason & your not
told why.

Start with a cylinder contribution test, followed by
a cylinder leak down test

If the valves are no good, rebuild the entire motor

Hello: You should be ok making the purchase but I highly recommend purchasing the extended warranty for 100,000 miles. Best to buy the GM warranty. Run a car fax on it.

No it doesn't have fuel. What test did you do.? The fuel filter is dirty or the fuel pump is mechanically bound once in awhile.

I recently purchased a used Toyota Echo 2001 with 61,000 miles on it. It runs great around town, but at speeds over 60 the fronmt end shakes, especially once I press on the gas. What could be causing this?

The first thing that needs to be done when experiencing shaking at certain speeds is have the wheels balanced.

This is a simple procedure that any repair shop should be able to do for a reasonable price.

Try that and check back if the problem continues.

Good luck.

Sputtering at idle and reverse??

Leaky EGR. Faulty plugs or wires. Vacuum leak at intake manifold or hose connections. With enginre running, wiggle all vacuum lines around and look for loose damaged or disconnected hoses, and listen for a hissing.

My car does not run, should i buy anoter one?

I woulld check the engine for external leaks ,
and if the miles are low 50,000 or under or less then you have on the vehidle now then yes.
I konow of a company based in Wisconsin.
ETE ( engine and transmission exchange.)
Look them up on the internet.
You may be able to purchase an engine from them for about the same cost of the vehicle you have in mind. The engine from ete should be a reman with zero miles on it.

Good Luck
