One Click usually indicates a bad starter. Since the vehicle overheated I would try this first. With the key off and the battery disconnected try turning the engine over by hand. If you can't get the engine to turn by hand than you have bigger problems probably associated with the overheating. If you can turn it over by hand than you need to check the starter. Make sure the small wire on the starter has power anytime the key is in the crank position. Make sure the large wire has power all the time. If both of those are good than you can also try tapping on the starter, key word tapping, with a hammer while a helper holds the key in the crank position. BE PREPAIRED FOR THE STARTER TO ENGAGE AND START THE ENGINE! If the starter works after tapping than replace it. Let me know if you have any questions and I'll do my best to answer them.
