2002 DODGE RAM 1500 2WD 4.7 V8 CLIMATE CONTROLL

MY CLIMATE CONTROLL STARTED SHUTTING OFF, NO POWER. THEN IT WOULD KICK BACK ON EVERY ONCE AND A WHILE, SLOWLY WORKING LESS AND LESS. NOW IT WILL ONLY OCCASIONALLY WORK FOR A SECOND OR TWO ONLY ONCE AND A WHILE AS I START THE CAR. ANY SUGGESTIONS?

This is likely a short in the power distribution block located on your stearing column. There was a recall for this problem. Contact the dealer for information.

I had a near identical malfunction on my truck. I suggest a little trouble shooting first. First check and see if you have any voltage at the blower. Its on the right side. Unplug the wire and check the solid blue. With you truck running you should have anywhere from 12 to 14 volts dc. If this checks out open your dash and check the wire plug on the lef of the ac controller. The black with green wire is a ground. You should get 12 to 14 volts when connected to known 12 volt positive source. If this checks out try making a jumper wire and connect the black and green to any of the other wires in the plug. If your blower runs, you replace the controller if it does not, remove the blower and connect to a jumper and the battery source. If the motor whirls away, you have a bad blower motor resistor. This is next to the motor towards the drivers side and has a four wire plug and two phillips screws holding it in. This should fix it.

Can I put a 1998 dodge ram 1500 4.7L V8 engine in a 2002 dodge ram 1500?

Yes it will fit but why, it is a very poor engine choice as they are fraught with mechanical problems. the 5.2L is a better choice.

It could be low fuel pressure. Have it tested with a gauge.

Climate control is dead?

It sounds like one of 2 things happened:
1. You blew a fuse, be sure to check the fuse panel
2. You knocked the power block to the climate control system loose. Check that the power block leading to the climate controll is tight into the control unit

!996 that's pretty old school, I don't think that has a shift on the fly feature. Maybe once the hubs are locked in.

2002 Dodge Ram 1500 4.7L will not stay on

sounds like a fuel problem. listen near your fuel tank for the fuel pump buzz or whirring sound while someone turns on the the key. no sound no fuel no start. does not necessarily mean the fuel pump is bad, maybe just no power.
