Re: geo tracker lights and radio not working
Power loss. any good car elect. tech find this pronto. just takes a volt meter to find the voltage drop point.
top fails: 1: corroded fuse box on right front finder (under fuse box) 2: did you say it kills motor too. cant figure above.
what about heater fan, it uses tons of current. as does HL followed by tails.
20amps, 15amps and 5amps respectively
you have resistance some where. and load , kills the voltage .
for me. i'd: check battery voltage , when it dims out. then of ok 12.5v is ok key on,not started. then check voltages at a right fender , fuse panel all points there, 12.5vdc , same as battery v. if OK then check voltage at the fuse above right knee with load full, hl, fan, brakes, just key on.

learn that fuse that look bad are bad
fuses the look good can be bad, called hair line cracks poor humans can not see
so we test them and never guess
tail fuse above left knee is in fact blown.
if not the switch is bad.
head lights are not part of this circuit at all, cept plastic knob.
do you mean , no crank or no start? I'll guess at cranks ok , no start. you stated, Ign. term is dead, that is not the Suzuki name. my guess is this car is a 16valve MPI 1.6L Suzuki, G16B and this car is EFI. and this car has 3 power fuses for the ECU, 3. IG-coil FI dome. if IG-fuse is above the right knee, replace that. use a volt meter on both pins if fuse, see 12v, key on>? I guess the CEL lamp dont glow key on, showing a DEAD ECU? The Cel must glow, if not, its burned out,or ECU has no power. etc. ever possible no start is here. http://www.fixkick.com/nostart.html
This happend when you put a new sterio? Now your horn and tail lights dont work. Well some models require and extra harness to make the after market sterio work, check in to that. Or a fuse, make you where the wire is and trace it to see if it goes to the radio
for how long, 1 day, 1 year , 1 decade? is it a daily driver or a barn stored, winter car.?
the real question,is there 12v exiting the fuse, the acid test. that. any volt meter does that in 5min flat. 3rd brake light is bad bulb or corroded socket. what tranny< 3,4,5,sp.? but in each case it takes a good rev. switch, if 12v enters said switch and does not exit, its bad. 0v bad,6v rev. path shorted to ground,12v good. btw, all clamps can short, try 1 new one. in each path all by lonesome. dig? bulbs good means what. 1: look good. 2: glow when placed on a 12v battery 3:measure 0 ohms with meter (means good or shorted. 4: or they are new and assumed good, (p/n ? what is the p/n?) ' head lamps good.? parking lamps, blinker, are all other lamps working. does car start?
Try replacing your brake light switch that is located at the top of the brake pedal arm. It might work if you wiggle or shake the switch but most likely you will have to replace the switch. good luck leave comment.
You didn't indicate that the starter turns over slow--that would be a strong indication of a bad battery, but if so, check your battery. If your battery is more than three years old, replace it. If the battery is good and you still have problems it could be a starter problem.
You must bring the the car to a geo/chevy dealer so they can reset the radio to factory unlock. It might be cheeper to have a new cd radio installed best by is a good place for around $200 a radio can be purched and installed .
THERE IS A SWITCH UNDERNEATH THE STEERING COLUMN THAT WILL CORRECT THIS PROBLEM. I BOUGHT MY 1994 GEO TRACKER 4X4 BRAND NEW. IT TOOK ME SEVERAL SERVICE APPOINTMENTS FROM MY DEALER BEFORE I GOT THIS INFORMATION FROM MY MECHANIC.
